Warranty Sunroof Replacement

hey guys,

i just had my sunroof replaced under warranty yesterday. there are 1 or 2 other threads in the forums about this issue ("Sunshade seal cracks"). if you look at the topside of your sunroof you will see a black shiny seal/trim piece that surrounds the glass. it is between the glass and rubber gasket.

my seal/trim piece had a bunch of tiny crack lines which went the entire way around the sunroof. each crack line was 3-4mm apart, and 4-5mm long - across the trim piece in the short axis.

i had no leaks or serviceability issues with the sunroof. but who knows what would happen down the road. since my bumper to bumper 4 year warranty was about to expire i mentioned it to Autowest and they did the replacement. you would not want to have to pay for this yourself; the part was ~$900 + tax and a few hours labour. they need to replace the entire sunroof cartridge assembly and re-lube the tracks.

i recommend everyone go have a look at their sunroofs to see if you have the same issue. sorry - no pics. it was crappy outside when i took it in. i did send a text photo to Sena so he could forward it to any of the Vancity guys.
