Dealer price for a 2011 IPL manual 6speed?

Anyone have an idea what a reasonable discount is off of the MSRP of a "new" 2011 G37 IPL Manual 6 speed? I'm looking at leasing and have been offered the following:

MSRP $57,200
Freight PDE $1,950
Air Tax $100
Discount -- $4,000

Requires payment of the $1,950
Annual KM's 16,000
Monthly payment $710 + tax.

Any opinions on this??

This is the lowest price that a dealership will accept as it is the price it paid to the manufacturer for the car. Since dealerships operate to make a profit, you will seldom buy a car at its invoice price unless it was a year end clearance sale.

This is amazingly helpful. Thanks!! One of the main issues I'm seeing by comparing the quote I received with an IPL on leasebusters is the residual value. Both are 4 year leases but the residual differential is about $5,000! My quote has a residual value of $22k and Leasebusters IPL shows a residual of $27k. This rate, if I'm not mistaken, is set by Nissan Leasing... why such a differential? Any ideas? By my calculation, that $5000 adds over $100 to the monthly payment....

Stay away from Leasebusters, far away.
BTW, the Nissan lease rate for 4 years on the IPL is 2.9% right now.

I'm trying to understand the differences in price and figured LeaseBusters is a good way to compare apples to apples. I suppose it has to be taken with a grain of salt.

I appreciate your advice. I am hoping that they want to get rid of this 2011 G37 IPL, after all it is about to start snowing and (more importantly) the 2012's are almost out.

I'm looking into the residual value with the dealership to better understand the huge difference and why Nissan Financing would have such a discrepancy.

Thanks again for your advice. I'll keep you posted..... I'd love to get an IPL, but I still have some time to decide (because my current lease isn't up yet) so if I have to walk away, I will.

The residual of $27k is out-to-lunch. The $22k makes sense.

As is typical, Americans have easy access to resdual values -- a US based site called "LeaseCompare.com" shows the following residual amounts for a 2011 IPL:

2011 Infiniti G37 IPL Coupe
24 Month – Residual 66% of MSRP – .00000 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 59% of MSRP – .00000 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 49% of MSRP – .00000 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 40% of MSRP – .00000 Base Rate

The $22k I was quoted equates to a 38.5% residual value -- considerably lower than the 49% noted in the US.

I called IFS, no help -- they don't have the residual values. Tried Nissan Canada -- no luck, they said to see the dealership. Something seems off to me.

Anyone else with a IPL lease out there, can you tell me what your residual value is?

As suspected, turns out the $22k was an error in their leasing system computer. The correct value is $24,044 based on 16k/year/48month lease. Final negotiated discount off MSRP is $4,000.

Now the only issue (that I've now started a new thread to discuss) is how they are supposed to handle my early lease trade in. There's no mention of it on my lease document -- I would have thought they have to just indicate that they will buy it out. Instead, they're saying they will take it in and complete a "grounding report" -- which I thought was for vehicles at their natural end of their lease (ie those on their way to auction).

Based on your new info (residual of ~42%) , the $710/month seems about right at 2.9%. I calculated $703.09+tax

My final negotiated price ended up being $673 + tax -- only after I corrected the residual error.

In the end, it was an extra 12 bucks to move from an allowance of 16,000 kms per year to 20km's per year so I decided to add the extra KM's -- so, final final numbers are:

$685 + tax = $775 with tax.

Got them to throw in 35% tinting too -- which is a must.

^ I think that price is ok but did you get your full discount?

You said, in the first post, that they're giving you a discount of $4000, however;
($685 x 48mo) + $24,044(residual) = $56,924.
The MSRP (incl. freight/PDE/fees), is $59,279.20. A difference/discount of $2355.00.

Yeah, they wouldn't let me put the freight/PDE/Fees into the lease -- so I have to pay the $1,950 + $100 on delivery. You are correct to note that my monthly payment doesn't include these fees -- technically making the monthly payment higher if you were able to include these fees in the lease.

However, keep in mind that in addition to the discount above, I also traded in my 2008 G37s 10 months early with no penalty. Overall, I think my deal on the IPL alone may have been (as you say) just "ok" ... but factoring in the trade in and as an overall package, I'd like to elevated the "ok" to a "good deal" ??

try this site to get some Canadian prices and leases Cars4u.com - Buy or lease your new car online (not affiliated with them in any way)

you would've to create an account to access more details but might help your leasing. They also have some custom quotes, see if these guys can beat what you're offered now.

Another thing is that dealer is going to buy your lease out from Nissan/Infiniti Canada at a reduced price than what is specified in your agreement for residual value + monthly payments left.
