I have a 08x 5AT.. at 70MPH I read about 2800 RPM's on the tach.

Just wondering what the new 7AT reads at the same speed.

Drove a 2.5 Altima and it was a little above 2K RPM's at 70MPG. but surprisingly the gas mileage wasn't much better then my G.

 

Um it kinda depends what gear you're in. If you are accelerating through 70 or cursing steady at 70, etc.

 

Steady pace at 70 mph with aftermarket 20s is 3200rpm..

 

I'm at about 2.5-2.6k RPM(7th gear) at 70mph if I remember

 

I'm usually around 2k rpm.

My '04 G35 5AT at 80 was usually 3200 or so. I noticed the 7AT is just under 3000 at 80, so probably 2800?

 

I checked on the way to work today. At cruise, in D, the 7AT is 2250rpm @ 70mph in 7th gear. This actually lines up almost exactly with the theoretical. Final drive ratio in 7th gear is 0.77. The radius of the stock 18" sport rims and OEM tires is 13.5", give or take. Do the math and you get 2264rpm@70mph. 6th gear would be about 2530rpm and 5th gear about 2940rpm.

The crazy thing is that red line in 2nd gear would be 93mph and you would hit the speed limiter in 3rd gear, right about 7500rpm.

 

On my 08 Sport 5AT (19" wheels) I am at 2800 in 5th at 70 MPH

 

Checked on my way home from work tonight and I have to agree... it was around 2300. I'm not getting as technical as to extrapolate the final drive ratio...

I just pulled the drive ratios from the owners manual.

 

5AT, 2900 rpm at 70 with slight headwind.

 

10x 7AT is only around 2200-2300 for me at 70

 

It seems most ppl have their RPMs around 2300 at 70mph? Why am I getting 2.6k with stock tires..
