wow how big of a scratch is that like a 1/4 inch? no wonder why you have so much going on right now...the bumper is going to get scratched again and again,...and...again consider it payback for the stupid things you've done when you were young. I can't believe people actually post threads like this, get back with us when you have "real" damage

You having a bad day or something?

Still like a $500 fix. And OP's trouble, is that he recognizes the family is on a fixed income and feels bad for furthering their burden. But at the same time, he has no fault in the matter so it kind of sucks if he needs to pay for someone else's mistake when they're right in front of him.

I would get a quote and present it to the parents. If they have financial issues, work on a payment play with them.

No not at all...He wanted what I though of it so I let him know what I thought...It just looks like a very small scratch and to even worry about it is beyond me. I know all you guys like your cars in pristine condition but why go through the hassle of repairing your bumper AGAIN? I could only understand if it was much bigger but he probably has bugs stuck to his front bumper bigger than that. Maybe he has a wider view picture to show us.

Even though I would love to teach a lessen to that family and have them pay for the repair (regardless or income or means) Touch it up with a paint pen and call it a day, you will remember me when someone rams their front license plate screws into your rear bumper when your car is parked in front of your local walmart

Some people just care more. For some people, it's an eyesore every time they walk past their car. It's something they notice every time they see it. That being said, I do want to see a wider picture of the damage too.

My car always gets damaged by shopping carts. And I've had someone ram their front license plate into my bumper as well. Doesn't feel so good when you come out and see your car damaged. For me, it's the worse when that happens because I feel like I'm paying for someone else's mistake. I live in SoCal and something of this nature happens every year or two. I'm more inclined to say every year.

Yes I am going through a lot now because since my whole 2 month of summer vacation, I have been going to court to deal with a separation or divorce from my wife and I'm suing the insurance for the total of $3800 because they didn't want to pay for my headlight while my coworker reverse into my parked car at the school. tks you State Farm

So I hope you understand my frustration when I see a small kid throwing a knife at someone' car. I hope the next post will make you more happier

BTW: I did get my front and rear bumper damage and I got hit on the passenger side last winter so maybe someone will hit me on the driver's side next time if that make you happy lmao

So this is what happen last night while I was trying to finish some court document, since the kids were playing outside as they always do I heard a loud bang as I ran to the window and saw the mother of the child that was playing with the knife that damage my car yelling like someone killed her.

So here what happen she open the trunk of someone's car and for some reason either she slammed to hard the whole window got smashed.
now I know she wont be happy with that repair bill.

Jesus...and I thought my complex was bad when I was living in Hanover. There were drug exchanges going on daily in the parking lot. Both townhouses beside me were condemned and raided by the Police....never thought I'd be so happy to move back home

ok yours is bad lol we do have a lot of drug exchanges and prostitution in the area but no condemned complex here but lots of police present at night. last winter they raided and caught 5 ppl who robbed a grocery store hiding in the other complex down the street.

Im only here cuz of the issue with the wife and the sale of the house we were living in but when its all over I will definitely run and move

After they were gone things quieted down thank God. We were there a year and that only lasted about 5 months or so. After that, we had a musician move next door who was gone literally 99% of the time; think I saw his car outside maybe 3 times the reminder of our lease. On the other side, a woman and her daughter moved in who kept to themselves. Wasn't all that bad but in the beginning we were wondering what we had gotten ourselves into.

Good luck with everything though. It sounds like a rough patch but you'll recover.
