I'm happy for Infiniti, but this will kill the resale value of the G37.

I dont think it will necessarily kill the resale value of the G37 it may drop like pretty much all cars do, but we will have to wait and see what the road test will be like with the no engine choices and the fact DAS is now an option. Also when the q50 came out it didnt really make the G37 drop in value to me because the Q50 made the G37 an even more hot ticket item well for those that could get over the fact that the G37 is a little dated vs the q50. I know i did lol :)

Why? The used car market is the used car market. What comes after doesn't kill the value of previous cars. Don't believe me? Look at the improvements of the GTR or the 911 over the past generation or two. Then go look at used GTR and 911 prices. Or the Tacoma. Or basically any vehicle that has been upgraded and improved. It doesn't devalue older versions of the same vehicle.

We already knew teasers about this powertrain on the Q60, so it's not surprising to see it in the Q50 as well.

I wonder... will the Q70 lose the VQ37 too? Probably. And if they have a 400hp V6 in their line-up, will they be dropping the 5.6L V8?

According to the press release posted in another thread, the VR is the successor to the VQ series. So it stands to reason (to me at least) that they will be going away across the model spectrum.

And I'm holding out hope for a new V8 VQ at the top of the lineup. 4.0L supercharged or turbocharged, please thank you!

And I'm wondering about the 370Z. No doubt a lighter, 400-TT would be amazing in that car, but the car itself is old. I don't follow Z news... what's on deck for that market, BB?

Is it just me, or are you tired of cars being designed in accordance with Washington's fuel economy fatwa? If we continue on this trajectory, cars are going to be the toys of the rich, as meeting the ever-more-stringent fuel economy numbers will make cars so expensive that they'll be out of reach of the middle class.

From history, I think the order of release has always been G sedan, then the G coupe, and finally the Z.

With that, my crazy logic would be the following:
V35 Sedan -> V35 Coupe -> Z33 -> V36 Sedan -> V36 Coupe -> Z34 -> V37 Sedan (Q50) -> V37 Coupe (Q60) -> Z35

No 6MT. No care for me.

I hope manual transmissions make a resurgence in the States. I really prefer to row my own, even if the automatic is faster.

Wow I'd be all over the 3.0T with 300hp/300ft-lbs, price depending. Shame no MT, maybe by the time I'm ready for a new car, I won't care about that anymore...

Agreed, 300hp with 300ft lbs of torque, puts you neck and neck with 335i performance then add a couple simple bolt-ons like down pipe and it will produce big power like the Beemers

Maybe later down the line they'll throw in a DCT?

I really want my next car to be a manual. If that's not an option, DCT will suffice.

No, nothing I've read about, just a personal wish. I haven't seen anything on the next Z. I think it's due for refresh in 2017 or 2018.

I'd love to see Nissan/Infiniti replace the ancient gas guzzling underpowered heavy 5.6 V8 VQ with something more like VAGs 4.0 TFSI twin turbo V8. That motor is an efficient, refined, high tech beast.

Have they announced pricing?
