2015 G37 Sedan Meet-up (August 29) Chat Thread

2015 Meet-up for G37 Sedan Owners

Saturday, August 29th, 2015

Canoe Creek State Park
205 Canoe Creek Rd
Hollidaysburg, PA 16648

Pavilion #3 has been reserved for Saturday August, 29, 2015. The space is secluded enough for MILD shenanigans and the parking is about the same distance away from the pavilion as our meet last year in Frances Slocum State Park. The pavilion is on the opposite side of the like from the park office and other amenities. Information regarding the location will be at the bottom of this post.

With that said, I will begin organizing who can bring what. Like last year, we will do a BBQ as we have access to grills and electricity at the pavilion.

We will need the following items:
  • Meats (burgers, hotdogs, sausages, etc.)
  • Breads (buns for burgers, hotdogs, sausages, etc.)
  • Vegetables (lettuce, tomato, other veggies to be grilled, etc.)
  • Sides (pastas, potato salads; John - get your wife in the kitchen again LOL)
  • Chips
  • Waters and Sodas
  • Plates and Utensils
  • Napkins
  • Trash bags

Please PM me the following: (only PM if you are attending)
  • Name
  • Phone Number
  • What you can bring from the list above
  • Any Guests joining you?

Features of this location:
Less than 300ft to Restroom and Water
Less than 300ft (more like less than 100ft) to Parking Lot (good size lot too)
Electricity
Grills

I've snapped a few screenshots of the area. Feel free to perform further investigation via Google Maps. Here are the coordinates of the parking lot that is adjacent to Pavilion #3.

40°28'54.3"N 78°16'24.1"W

I'll definitely go again, coming from jersey. I guess we can narrow down a region once we get some committed people. I think last year we had a good location, but it wasn't that far of a drive for people coming from jersey so I cant speak for the guys that had the long drives.

I may be interested depending on when and where. And I assume this will be different than the ZCON meet up?

I'm good for a 3-4 hour drive. Beyond that, only if someone else is riding/driving along. It was 3-4 hours for me to get to that PA State Park last year.

Naturally Kirk and Chris will LOL at that concern. I get that.

I suppose by Springtime I'll have a whole host of mods that I didn't have last year, so showing off is always a motivation.

End of April? Early May? My schedule is almost always open.

I'm interested in anything within a few hours of D.C. May or May should have pretty solid weather too.

I'm good with late April early May, I'd need to know soon so I can put in for that weekend off.

I think the only thing that may pose an issue is finding some place that will allow us to show off exhaust mods. I'm game for the state park again, but I don't think that park ranger would be cool about it two years in a row.

Good points, both.

Last meetup, there was too little key-swapping going on. And a state park is not the place to play.

I may be interested depending on location and date. I'll be heading to Orlando for awhile in April and will actually be,using the bulk of my vacation this year. I doubt I'll have too much in the way of new mods to show off anyway.

Certainly a SMH moment the first time you see a JDM company name like that. But it's a cultural thing, so whatever.

I'd be interested again depending on where and when. May would be preferable, but I think as long as I know well ahead of time I should be able to get the weekend off. Might just be suspension and wheels for me, mod bug is hibernating right now.

So it looks like the general consensus is sometime in May. How does the weekend of 16-17 May work for everyone?

Location is still TBD.
