I imagine the Q50 will do ok with the general public since 99% of them won't complain about the lack of steering feel or throttle response with the initial pedal travel.

I drive the Q50 (base) loaner and really have no desire to get one even if I have to replace my car today. With getting stuck with an auto, I would much rather have a Lexus IS than the Q50. Just personal preference.

To me, why the does the two screens of Q50 can both be set to a clock, so we need 2 clocks in the center console? Also, why does the G meter being shown in the lower screen on the center console? Is it for the passengers or the driver? It will totally take your eyes off the road and corner if you would like to read anything off the lower center console screen.

A little surprise to me was the sports mode. In sports mode, I just nail the throttle from a stop and the system would allow quite a bit of tire spin. That was unexpected (in a good way).

I had Q50 loaner and I LOVE, LOVE the LED headlight and fog lights. I only wish I can emulate such in my G37S.

Although I did not look under it - doesn't the Q50 sedan now have an exhaust similar to the coupe? I was guessing that yes - the high floor was high due to the spare - but w/o the spare I am betting it is not as spacious as the G.

With the lease on my 2011 G Sedan coming up, I went to the dealer and drove (extensively) a Q50 with all options but the electronics package. My intent had been to turn in the G, and lease a 2014 Q50. My wife drove the car as well. We both found it to be a disappointment. No feeling of fun when behind the wheel. The gauges and buttons are gimmicky and the glare off all the plastic on the large display under the nav screen is annoying. Car had the drive-by-wire, which takes the experience of driving and feeling of the road and instead puts you to sleep. Even after trying every possible setting combination. Car is too quite and Lexus feeling as well. We decided that the Q50 was simply a no-go for us. I went back a few days later, worked directly with the GM, and ended up driving home a new 2013 G with an incredible 36 month lease. Lots of incentives and price reductions on the Gs. I negotiated a price on the care which was considerably less than on the same vehicle configuration as my 2011. The transmission shifts 10 times better than the 2011. Very smooth. Steering response even seems tighter than on my '11. Obsidian black, with dark graphite interior, Nav, splash guards and illuminated kick plates. Beats the Q50 hands down, for thousands less. I don't understand Infiniti. The Q50 seems to be a car with no targeted market. The G saved Infiniti, and they then discontinue the car (yes, I know about the Q40 plans) and come out with a funky sedan instead. My wife is even happier than me that we went with a new G. If I had not, I would have gone to a Lexus IS350 and left Infiniti.

Wanted to know if the power steering leak would affect the position of the steering wheel ??

After the power steering leak started I realize one day at the stop sign the steering wheel was not straight but the tire was.( first pic)

but when I went to pick up the car same thing happen the tire was straight but the steering wheel wasn't. (second and third pic)

If you're worried about the performance, try the hybrid, it will surprise you. Also the DAS takes getting used to it, once you do though the stiff setting is very nice. I was the biggest anti-DAS person, after driving it months before launch at the track I took away from it that I hate the steering and it was the worse thing they could have done. After driving one for a couple weeks on backroad mountain twisties I got used to how it wanted me to input steering controls and again once used to it loved the feeling and the feedback, (yes you can still get feedback with this system) It something that needs to grow, which is bad because you can't do that on a simple test drive. The Q50 is definately not as sporty as the G was, but it is leaps above in visual, technology and comfort. Just depends what you're looking for.

It wasn't a leak. The power steering issue is that it sounds like it is low on fluid when making low speed left turns. The fluid sloshes around and the pump sucks air - but it SOUNDS like it is 'strained'. The fix is to replace the reservoir with a new one (which I assume has the proper baffles). And the fix was a success.

No difference in steering wheel position....

Edit - here is a description of the TSB: Summary of ITB12035:
IF YOU CONFIRM A steering noise can be heard in an Applied Vehicle when turning the steering wheel to the left while traveling 15-25 MPH. NOTE - The noise is similar to the sound made when: - the power steering fluid level is low or fluid has trapped air. - the steering is held to full lock with the engine running. ACTION 1. Check the power steering fluid level and adjust as necessary. 2. If the noise is still heard, replace the power steering reservoir tank with either of the new reservoir tanks listed in the Parts Information section.
