Sport front conversion!!!
3 stages of front conversion.
Stage 1 (original) http://i42.tinypic.com/x1fvbm.jpg I had wrapped the middle part of the bumper in gloss black but felt it needed a change.. Stage 2 (sport front bumper) http://i41.tinypic.com/okpkl5.jpg I like the sport bumper but to me it still looks unfinished. Especially the bottom part of the bumper that tucks in. Stage 3 (sport front lip) http://i40.tinypic.com/2qb7u4w.jpg Completion! I think the lip changes the whole feel of the front of the g. Pics are not that good but i have to get around to taking better photos.. How do you guys like it? |
Looks really good!
|
Looks great. Did you do it yourself? Was it a simple conversion? What all did you have to do?
|
Looks great man!
|
I don't know if its just me but the first image is upside down.

Did you shade the lense (correct term?) of your headlights, or did you pull them apart and paint the housing? I think they go well with your look.
|
Looks sick! Can you tell me all the parts you needed and how much it cost you?
|
Looks great! Only thing I'd change is (imo) unwrap the Infiniti insignia. I think the contrast with the black grille will look nice.
|
I would have to see it in person but I like the front without the addition of the lip. Also contrast color to get your emblem to stand out might be an idea?
over all nice work! |
As I mentioned in your thread in "Show off your sedans"... :D

I would like to suggest to have the Mt. Fugi emblem painted Moonlight White to match the body. With it being all black, makes it a bit dark up front. :thewave: |
Ditto on the grille logo. It needs some contrast. If the chrome is too much for you, then go darker, but not full-on black.
Also, in your "show off your sedans" post, you asked about the side-sills; (i.e. skirts) The sport package sills are slightly more prominent than the non-sport. Go find a Sport G, park next to it and compare. Your local Infiniti dealership probably has one. Honestly, the difference is so subtle, I don't know why Infiniti bothered. They should have done something more obvious... bigger, or with a little chrome inset. |
I really like what you did w/ the lower black wrap in pic #1. I think doing the same on your current setup would look pretty nice, also agree about the white Mt. Fuji, would really stand out in a good way. Nice work throughout, good job!

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments and likes,
As far as white emblem; i used to have a white emblem and switched to all black because it gives it a much cleaner/meaner look. So far i love the front of my car most :) . Used to be the rear hehe. Heres another pic for you guys http://i42.tinypic.com/nloiol.jpg |

i did the sport bumper and lip on my car too, looks way better. i painted my midnight black front grille on the outside edges the same color as the car as well as the logo.
what did you do to your headlights? can't tell if you just smoked the whole thing or not. i'd like to paint the surrounds on the inside a midnight or shadow black color |
Good job man, looks awesome!
|
dam I want white!
|
looks sex sexxx bro! did you have to poke any holes for the lip install?
|

did you get my PM?
|
Did the conversion need anything other than the bumper cover, the fog light inserts, and the tow eye cap for parts? Are the fog light bezels the same?
Did you need any of the shims or screws or anything? I have white as well and I am hoping it will look as good when it's done. Yours looks great. Thanks |
i have a parts list invoice at home from when mine was done...i'll take a pic of it tonight for you all

this is from the body shop that did a front bumper conversion and sport lip...i'm not actually sure what some of parts are and i'm not claiming all are necessary
i told the shop to order any parts that the bumper doesn't come with so i could mount either bumper at anytime without having to swap lots of brackets and parts around: 62256-1NH1A - tow hook cover 62256-JK20A - 62257-1MS2A - black grille around fog light 62256-1MS2A - black grille around fog light 62222-JK000 - mounting bracket 62223-JK000 - mounting bracket 08566-6205A x 2 - tapping screws 65820-JK010 - seal strip for top of bumper 62254-1NH1A - lower grille bumper itself and sport lip if anyone in the sf bay area wants to get this done, i know a great body shop. he did this on my car, so you know he knows how to do it |

Thank you very much for the list mpegripper. That is excellent.
I have talked to my dealership and the only question that I have remaining is whether or not the chrome fog light bezel is different between the sport and non-sport. They have different part numbers. It is $110 less for me if I can use the bezels from my car. Does anyone know if they are the same part? Based on mpegripper's parts list I should be able to, as he didn't get charged for them but I need to confirm. Thanks

I think the bezel should be interchangable, since the foglight itself are .
|
That was my reasoning as well. I was just hoping that it could be confirmed.
|
My lower grille and what I thought were my black grilles around my fog lights came in today but instead of the black grilles around the fog lights the sent me the chrome fog light bezels :icon43:
|
Looks really nice but something about the first pic. It looks amazing I would prob stuck with how it was
|
i didn't change foglight bezels
|
