Group Buy INTEREST TopSpeed Pro-1 Exhaust - sedan
 

This is an INTEREST thread only for the sedans. I have talked with TopSpeed directly and they are willing to work out a group buy. The details are as follows.

5 buyers price will be $425
10 buyers price will be $410
15 buyers price will be $380
20+ buyers price will be $360 - no further discounts past 20.

Shipping is not included and would be $25 from TopSpeed. This is for the continental 48 United States. TopSpeed told me that all other locations would have to contact TopSpeed for shipping costs AFTER the official group buy thread has been started.

The list being started are for those SERIOUSLY interested in the exhaust and can pay. Once the interest numbers are gathered, a separate group buy thread will be started. There will be a 2 week window for payment (most likely but subject to change). I am awaiting response for production completion and estimated shipping dates.

It's a Y back

Not to sound stupid but it seems that this exhaust will fit the X sedan. I have a 2010 g37x sedan and I was wondering if this exhaust will fit with out any problems? I have been looking for an exhaust at a good price and this just might be it...

It does, check the links I posted above, member DeepRumble put them on his X, he's got pic in that thread too.

It fits the X because it's a Y back, meaning it's from the Y-pipe to the tips. The Y pipe is stock, and clears the transfer case.

I forgot the link but there's another thread on Top Speed saying that they're not making anymore or that they won't have any in stock for a while. Is this correct?

I spoke with TopSpeed yesterday at 5pm. Waiting on production dates....

Taking forever. Worth the wait though.

Very interested put me down for one.... Only question is will you get a check engine light with this exhaust?

The pricing is still in line w/ what they were previously, if the price was slashed I'd have concerns but they'll be using the same jigs & welding procedures as before, and they've been building stainless exhausts for a long time now. I wouldn't be worried about that, just hoping they can get a reasonable production date for those expressing interest here :)

It was a somewhat rare feature on the 2009 model, and likely the 2007-2008 G35, but I'm not sure about those years.

Or maybe I've got my model years all goofed up. Anyway... that's what it is.

the price is unbelievable, but any gains?

Shipping is $25 in the US, but what about Canada?

Should expect a few hp gain, I know it "feels" more responsive but most catback & y back setups only net a gain of 10 hp or less. HFCs & Test Pipes should gain a bit more than that.

I am also on the fence. But I think I might go for it once 20+ people go for it.

I am thinking at 15 I am in, so if everyone so far is in that is one more person. The difference between the 15 and 20 isn't even enough to cover shipping so the extra $20 won't break me.

On second thought, since this is the interest thread and I know we will get past the 15 count me in.

As far as shipping to Canada, TopSpeed said US 48 Continental only, but you may want to call them.

Here you go, had this on since March and about 12kmiles, still looks just as new as the pics here. You guys won't believe how nice this setup is, and for the group buy price it's a no brainer. Sounds incredible too. Like I mentioned in the other TopSpeed post I'll get some new sound clips next to a stock 07 G35 so you can really tell the true improvement in the exhaust note coming from a stock G. Now that the exhaust is fully seasoned I think it sounds better than my old sound clips too. As far as the Y pipe, I haven't heard that our Gs get much noticeable improvement in sound or performance over the stock Y, HFCs or Test pipes would be a better plan. IMO just get it, slap it on and enjoy the look and the note, IMO it's just right for a sedan, just loud enough but not obtrusive when cruising at hwy speeds and really opens up nicely when you get on it and sounds sweet at start up too :)

How can you be "on the fence" about an exhaust for $350, which sounds and looks great. I just don't understand...

I agree the price is great. But having a Tanabe already, I don't see much difference except for the added Y pipe. I'm not sure if it makes such a dramatic difference for me to get this. Not to mention it looks identical to the Tanabe, minus the Medallion etched on the tips. This is basically a Tanabe knockoff. But nonetheless, still a great deal and that's why I'm on the fence on it.

Can anyone confirm if there is any drone in the cabin at certain speeds?

At about 1500 rpm there's a bit of a bass tone in the cabin but not really overly obtrusive IMO. Not sure if my cabin sound clip caught it though. Otherwise it's drone free :)

Sniper, I think you'll like the more aggressive tone compared to the Tenabe, but obviously it's your call.

Just got rid of my Tanabe about a month ago. It looked great, not gonna lie. But there was almost no sound difference. Tried making it slightly louder with a Y-pipe, didn't help. The Top Speed sounds 2x better and louder than the Tanabe, and still has the looks. It isn't a knock off just because it looks like it, and also considering that the Top Speed is a y-back and the Tanabe is only an axleback.

Now that you guys are closing in on 20 I'm kinda pissed, thought my $399 shipped was the best price we'd see on these units :(

Here's a sound clip w/ my old 07 G35 that I sold to a friend and it's stock and my 09G37 w/ the TopSpeed. The sound breaks up a bit (crappy Netbook cam) but you get the idea.

Just got a response from Aaron at Top Speed and they are sold out at the moment. The moment meaning the majority of this year. I have been trying to purchase this exhaust from them since April.

Review the thread. Numerous people have spoken to them, they're getting shipments some time this or next month.
