High Pitched Whine/Squeal/Whistle under heavy acceleration!
So my brand new g37s with 900 miles on it thus far makes a really loud Whistle/Squeal under heavy acceleration when im nearing redline (about 1500 to 1000 rpm away)
I was told by a friend that its probably an intake plenum, but hes a chevy guy, so I figured I would ask you fine lads and ladies if you knew what the real deal was. Thanks in advance for your responses and help :) |
every 2010+ sedan i've been in (3 so far) does this. Not sure what it is but I don't think its a problem.
|
Well that's good to know, I wasnt sure if it was because I've started getting raunchy with the throttle before the break in was completed.
|
realized the same thing.. made me worried for a second but i guess it's normal as stock?

My car and all loaners do this... Doubt it's something to worry about.
PS - You shouldn't know what your car sounds like at redline with 900 on the ODO. Tsk tsk. |

ur stock intakes =) mine does the same and i LOVE that sound

It's from the intake, floor it with DS you'll hear them all the time. Love it!

Do you have an aftermarket intake? I thought my Z06 had a belt slipping after I put a Halltech CAI on it, though it turned out to be a whistle from air moving thought the throttle body: The sound was always there, but the stock air box muffled it.

pretty sure it's the activation of full-on VVEL

I have an 09 and there isn't any squeal whatsoever. must be a post refresh problem maybe to quiet down the breathing noise?
