Hypertech tune is back and boy!
....I really missed it when I sold my first one. Time passed, and I got 'used' to stock and everything was okay I thought, but during my last dealer visit I got re-flashed with some new stock tune or some variation based on some complaints and it was just sucking. So I pulled the trigger again (found a crazy deal online for new at 345.00!), and re-ordered the hypertech, and it was is just night and day - 0-60 restriction is gone, throttle response is back, and the more torque on the low end is extremely noticeable. Back in the 5.1's 0-60! So happy - hoping to get an invidia gemini and get enough extra oomph to get me in the 4.9 range sans spare, sub, baby seats and on a 1/4 tank of gas at my local 1/4 speedway.
Couldn't be happier. It almost feels like there is a new tune from Hypertech in this module - couldn't compare version numbers because I don't remember the 12-digit version number from the last one, silly me.
Seems to like my new, meatier sport back wheels with the Potenza 960AS' - a lot less slip light than my RSAs or my crappy Kumhos that I had to send back to tirerack. 960s are really sticky for an A/S.

yeah, sweet deal indeed - I don't think they are a sponsor, so I'll just say I searched A-zon, and they were one of the 3 or 4 sponsored vendor links on the bottom or side, I forget - or PM me. I couldn't believe it though - most sell for 450, and the best deal I'd ever seen was around 405. Got it in about 3 days, too, Fedex. oh, and free shipping - crazy deal. I really think it's a pretty good canned tune. Dyno results are better / more desirable than the the Cobb stage one stocker tune. If you just want a little extra oomph in your G37, at $350 + free shipping, it is finally a good deal, IMO.
BTW, a Hypertech engineer PM'd me and told me I could possibly see a boost on the top end with a free-flowing exhaust, above what said exhaust offered already. SO good deal, cuz I plan on picking one asap.

Yeah, the Hypertech guys are still working out the kinks for the new 2010 tunes. Kenny hooked me up with a tune a few weeks back but it actually added lag in "d" or "ds" under hard acceleration for my G37x, so they are looking into it again.
