That quote just goes to show you how much money they rake in based on service sales rather than vehicle sales. If they think a client is willing to drop $10K into repairing a car why don't they parlay that into a new car sale? Psst, it's profit margins.

Rochester and mummy2 are right, think safety first and then glean the internet for a decent take-off clock and cheap filters.

Luckily you're in a big enough metro area that you can find a decent shop to work on the things you can't tackle yourself. Good luck!
