What's this wire near my battery?!

Found a purple wire that looks to be cut just beside the battery this evening. Any ideas what it's for? It is a strange place for a bare wire to be imo.

That is far too small to be an amplifier power wire. It's not that. Perhaps try to follow it and see where it leads. Check to see if it goes into the cabin. Look for a grommet underneath or behind the glove box and see if the wire goes into the cabin there and follow it's path.

Not all amps need 0 or 4 gauge wire

I would say almost any amp needs at least 12 guage or more before constantly blowing fuses, this is like a 25 lol.. Its more likely an amp "signal" wire, not the power.

This^^^. If anything it would be an amp signal wire, but I would bet the previous owner had some type of lighting component or accessory wired to the battery.

True. But anything less than 8 gauge, even for a small amp, is insufficient. That wire looks like 16 gauge maximum. Barely enough for speaker wire or amp turn on lead.

And maybe that's why it's cut LOL

It has to be a signal wire - I'd just take it off completely - Hope the car still turns on
