Thanks Slade. In all honesty if I had known the swap would have gone as smooth as it did I would have done it long ago. Only that I found a awesome deal on eBay for the complete system I probably wouldn't have even bothered in the first place.

But to be finally free of all those cables in the center console (and Apple/iPod), thanks to BT streaming and USB, made it a priceless project.

This morning I started using a new cell phone mount, which works dramatically better than my old one. Special thanks to Dang for being an awesome member and going out of his way to ship this to me (free of charge!). He didn't even ask me to cover the cost of the unit

Mark my words, I'll find a way to repay this kind deed!

Thanks, Newt.

I paid $350 for everything in the center stack:

Screen (included the NAV switch and air vent assy.),
NAV Controller,
Preset/HVAC switch/clock panel.

GPS antenna from a GTR, $35
Steering Wheel Switch Assy- $45
Steering Angle Sensor- $50, turns out I didn't need it,
NAV sub harness from a M37, which included all the wires, connectors, USB and RGB cables, $50 (this saved a lot of the re-pinning of wires).

Yes, eBay is my best friend at times.

All said I have just over $500 in parts not including the JDM NAV switch assy that I had shipped from Japan ($75) and modded to the USDM switch. Many will argue that this project is a waste but, like I said before, just to be rid of those cables makes all the difference for me and suits my needs just fine.

Yes, but from a 2014 Q60. I was VERY lucky finding that deal.

Hey Max what's this called? I've been using a dashboard suction cup style mount but there's really no convenient place to put it without my phone obstructing my view or making it difficult to get the phone in and out thanks to the support pillars. Something like this looks great.

The brand is called koomus. I find that it's extremely accessible, but if you have a 6MT, charging your phone could get in the way if your hand wanders too far forward.

I polished my exhaust tips this afternoon. It's pretty amazing what you can do with some steel wool.
