I'm now a member. IPL in the garage.
I've owned an Infiniti for the past eight years and it's been an exceptional car. The only issue I ever had was a stuck thermostat (at an inopportune time) but literally nothing ever went wrong with the car.
Because of that, I talked myself off the ledge so to speak from buying either an M3 vert (E93) or 2013+S4/S5. Really really wanted that M3 vert but the thought of having to buy $5K worth of extended warranty just for peace of mind ultimately turned me off. Ditto with the Audis. Love the cars but just didn't want to deal with issues.
Now my background is high hp rotaries so I know a thing or two about troubleshooting. To this day, I still keep one eye on the temp gauge and I occasionally have "smell" flashbacks, smelling coolant that isn't really there. No kidding. I've owned a few other fast cars before purchasing the Infiniti SUV. It was sporty enough for a time but that time has come and gone.
Time for an IPL. I almost pulled the trigger last summer when a sweet 2013 Graphite Shadow with a red interior popped up in town. With 9K on the odometer. Unfortunately I was headed to Vegas on vacation and it was gone when I got back.
In fact, there were a whole lot of them around the country at the time. Fast forward and I started looking right after the first of the year. Not many around and I had a pretty difficult time finding a decent one in good shape. I also had a pretty difficult time getting a fair deal and I backed out of two cars alone due to this.
I finally managed to find a low mileage 2013, registered in 2014, with 19K on the odometer. Really not a scratch on it, new tires (Bridgestone REO50's) and it was priced ok, not great. Two years of full warranty left, one owner, leased with all the service performed by one Infiniti dealer. Pulled the trigger tonight and it's now sitting in the garage. Couldn't be happier. It's just within the realm of "FU" power and it'll get me in and out of those gnarly traffic situations just fine on the commute into work. It's just tight enough, just loud enough, really just right for what I was looking to drive. It isn't the latest/greatest but it'll save me $25K over a brand new Q60 when it arrives in a few months. The 400hp and AWD would be nice...maybe in a few years.
I am having one issue already but it's the bluetooth pairing between the car and my iPhone. I updated to the latest OS on Saturday knowing that I probably shouldn't. Sure enough, they're not pairing. May have to run by the dealer tomorrow morning and see if I can get new firmware.
No pics as it's dark now. Plus it's not like we haven't seen a bone stock IPL before, LOL.
One more shout out to KAHBOOM who went and checked on a car out of state for me. Good people. I hope to not add too much to the forum (problem free car, right?) but hope I can help folks out from time to time. I have a pretty extensive background in cars and used to tune stand alone systems, build engines, pretty much everything required to modify a car. I try to avoid even thinking about that stuff these days so I always read modding threads with a bit of trepidation. Luckily, the IPL's difficult to mod.

Thanks guys, I snapped two quickies using my iPhone. I figured out the Bluetooth already...I'd synched my phone to another IPL I test drove and I was trying to connect to that one instead of the new car. Deleted the old out and it worked great. Figured out how to stream audio and it sounds fantastic. Got the memory seat and the home link programmed, a few destinations in the GPS system and I'm good to go!
Unfortunately, being a Texas car, it already has a front plate. I've got the town hook bracket on order regardless and I'll be adding some weathertech products to the car. Firm believer in those, the carpets in my old car, with 144K on the odometer, looked practically new.

Not really any worth mentioning. A set of all weather floor mats, front license plate tow hook mount, that's really about it. I took the front plate holder off this morning to minimize any more damage. There's already some scratches on the front bumper from it, not to mention two holes for the screws. I'll just use some bumper plugs. Going to check the Infiniti dealer to see if I can get them there for less than $30 for two. A bit pricey IMO.
As far as the mechanicals, I'm just going to keep it stock. There aren't huge gains to be had and I'd like to keep the warranty intact. A few years down the road, when the shocks need replacing, I may look at a coil-over setup them. I don't have the best roads here however.
I've not had a chance to really drive it much. Did get the rear end to step out this morning before the VDC stepped in. Not as abrupt as I thought it would be so that's a good thing. The exhaust seems a bit louder on this 2013 vs. the 2012 I test drove. The car is very quiet overall compared to my last Infiniti. Quite a dramatic difference in the amount of road noise getting in the cabin.
I also noticed, ala BMW M3, the car is pretty loud on cold startup and then all of a sudden quiets down. Is there any sort of a flap in the exhaust system?
I waxed the car this morning too. This of course is basically a modern form of a rain dance. I just heard thunder. Seriously.

Thank you! I really wanted the red interior but they're even harder to find with the graphite shadow exterior. Plus the wife wasn't as big on the red interior. I think long-term, I'll like the black interior better anyway.
