Tell me the pro's and con's of a g37

Hey guys, Coming here shortly i will be leaving for Basic Training for the Air Force. Once i get through and through my additional training i will be looking for a new car. I've pretty much settled on the g37. I want something sporty but yet be able to Drive 15+ hours to visit home. I don't need to be the fastest car out there, just stanced out and cruise. First off i'm only 5' 5 so i'm not very tall. Will this be a problem since the g37 is a bit of a bigger car? I'm pretty mechanically inclined as i've done all the work on my old car myself. is the g37 a car that can be easily tooled on myself? and any other pointers you guys can give me?

Keep the dub :-) is that a 20th?

Anywho, height wise, you'll be more than ok in the G. It's a nice car. I really can't think of too many things I didn't like about mine when I had it. It's comfortable, quick, handles well, can get sideways when you want it to, it's great for long distance driving (drove it from Phoenix to Monterey - 13 hours each way, and got about 26mpg), it looks great, and it has great aftermarket if you feel like the performance out of the box is not up to your liking when it comes to power, handling, or braking. Just get an 09 or newer, as the 08s had some issues. And make sure all the TSBs are done on it.

Getting an auto or manual? If those are your expectations, you won't be disappointed. There's nothing really worth mentioning that is a deal breaker. Just know the back seats aren't the most comfortable, the trunk space isn't that great either. I feel the handling is pretty good on this car, the torque is lacking a little. The manual is a little noisier than the auto, but from what I heard that's normal for nissan's.

Pros:
> Great value
> Respectable power
> Street appeal
> Nice interior (those who disagree drink tea while pointing their pinky finger)
> Great sound system
> Decent exhaust note

Cons:
> Could use more torque (as stated above)
> Blindspot over left shoulder
> (Non-adjustable) seatbelt mounted too high, rubs against your neck (I'm 5'5" too)
> Integrated fog lamps. If you turn them on most people think you're highbeaming them
> OEM (Akebono) brakes squeek like hell.

Suggestions:
> Get the S (the 19s and BBK are a bargain)
> (When needed) switch the brakepads and rotors for aftermarket pads and rotors
> (When needed) switch from the Bridgestones to the Michelin Pilot SuperSport

Replies:
"I don't need to be the fastest car out there"
> Then the G is perfect. It is fast but not ridiculous.

I don't know. I'm one of those guys that take my car to the dealership for services. If you're mechanically inclined though and you want to change your own oil that shouldn't be a problem.

Congratulations on graduation btw! Good luck with your choice.

Pros; It's fast and a chick magnet
Cons; You can't really slam it on coilovers.. Were talking about 2" off or lower off the floor.. But anything over 3" is fine.

Pros: Get for what you pay for, good value, money worth
Cons: I have the Sport trim, so the seats are not the best imo

Pros: Interior
Look
Variety of aftermarket parts
Bose Audio
Saw in a commercial its #1 in holding value or something .
Sport Brakes is my fave

Negatives: I'm 5'10 and I have to sit at the lowest setting or my hair hits the roof
Horrible backseat Cupholders.
Backseat is for short people as well since the windshield slants downwards.
The seats crease very easily.
Left rear window blind spot.
Paint is thin.
Small Trunk
Crappy torque (makes me wish I went with the 335i)

In terms of what you're saying, this car will be a perfect fit for you. Especially in the 5'5" part. Taller people have a harder time with this car, and the seats raises high enough for even you to touch your head on the roof. Visit a dealer and drive one--that's all you'll need. One test drive will be worth more than any of us can tell you here. But, even just according to your words, this car will blow you away.

If you need a car to get girls, you are a sad panda... pathetic really.

If the girls are only interested in you because of a car... well, enjoy the various diseases you'll get from them. Condoms don't stop things like genital warts, something to consider.

If you are just getting out of basic, I'd save your freaking money man. I know way to many guys who did the same thing your thinking of and 6 months later were kicking themselves for their stupidity. Buy a freaking civic or something. Get something that's super reliable and gets great gas mileage. You have NO IDEA what expenses will be coming your way. Money in the bank is the greatest thing in the world. And you WILL end up overseas at some point, do you WANT to be paying that much for a car that you won't even see for 6-12 months? And before you say it won't happen to you, my buddy in the air force didn't think it would happen to him either. He's already spent 6 months in afganistan, came back, and then got shipped out to Qatar or something for another year. He fixes f16 engines, they made him drive a truck for 6 months.
