Love my G37 Except for the...
I just bought an '08 G37 and like everyone else here, I love it. The one detail about the appearance that puzzles me though is why after all the body sculpting, impressive lines, radical suspension and handling, etc... does Infiniti opt for cheap looking fake plastic brake ventilation air vents on the front air dam? Why not incorporate the fog lights in there instead of the headlight cluster? Any modding ideas for these otherwise useless pieces of plastic?

Completely agree. I am waiting on someone to fabricate a foglight mod for them.

how about taking a dremel to it and cutting it out so it looks like "mesh"

I was wondering if those could be replaced with some type of ram air intake setup or something. I know their isn't many aftermarket options right now, but wonder if that is something worth doing.
Thoughts? |
^^intake there would just be asking for trouble. i'd be afraid to get water in the engine..

I'm waiting for a driving/fog light mod too.

Agree with that.
I also think the Rear license plate solution is half *** slapped on there last second. How it hangs over the edge buy a 1/2 inch or so. It isn't integrated into the rear like it should be. Start looking at other high end cars. NONE of them are like this. |
+1 on all comments...entire front end is weakest part of otherwise beautiful car.
every time I wash or look at those gaping open plastic filled holes...i wonder wtf were they thinking? did they plan to do something else there? why do they look so cheap? sounds like we have a mini-market for somone with some aftermarket modding skills... I'd like to see an entire stainless mesh kit that replaces the grille and all the plastic fake mesh in the lower bumper....kind of like on the CTS-V. who's with me? |
not to say that its nice but stillen has a pic of a g37 with fogs in the vents on their home page
|
hmm...or at least they "were" there....:52:

1) lack of bumper mounted fog lights or brake vent.
2) pops, ticks rattles etc that come from the various components of the exhaust and muffler. 3) ride height over front wheels 4) faux aluminum on door handles and gear shift. 5) dumbed down voice commands on Navi package 6) wind noise when sunroof is open (bad wind deflector design in my opinion) The rest of the car is great to me. |
