Official Owner's review thread -1000+miles club
Ok. I know there have been some good early reviews on the G37. I'm starting a thread for all those owners that have had significant time behind the wheel.
I'm looking for those owners that have past their breakin period and have had enough opportunity to get a good feel of th car, to post their opinions.

i've logged 1650+ miles now, with a 500 mile trip just yesterday.
the fiance and i cruised over to Monterey from Sacramento for the day.
the extended trip i would categorize as 'Just Fine' in the G. her ML350 would have been a better choice for the crappy interstate roads.
that said, the G is a MUCH MUCH MUCH better choice once you make it to the coastal curves along HWY 1. which, by the way, the 37 handles absolutely perfectly! i can't tell you how many people were staring as we'd blast around a curve who's speed was suggested at 25mph at about 55-60mph in 3rd at around 5-6krpms. must've sounded like a le mans car with the echo outside.
the only real complaint i have is that after about an hour and a half, my lower back starts barking at me. it seems like the lower back portion of the seatback is much more rigid than any other part of the seat. it almost feels like solid steel! i found that i had to adjust my seating position about 4 times along the trip back.
The heated seats are quite nice when they're on, and provide very soothing relaxation while driving. however, the HIGH setting is not working propperly on neither the driver nor passenger seats.
the only other complaint, which is certainly well documented, is the nav lockout. example: we're on hwy 156 last night and she says, "i want a mcdonald's ice cream cone". i said, "k, let's look it up... oh, sh|t. well... let's pull off at the next exit." it was just such a hinderance... really need this hacked.
otherwise, the car is a magnet. at every pull-off point along 17 mile drive, people would crowd around and scope it out. i felt like i had to keep one eye on the scenery and one eye on my car!!!

not quite. the rigid piece of steel is conveniently located directly below the lumbar affected area.
i eventally fully deflated the lumbar, brought the rear of the seat up, and the seatback back. i felt a little ghetto riding like that, but it aleviated a bit of the stress on the lower back.

Interesting feedback about the seat. I notice I had a bit of a headache after my first ride and felt it came for the stiffness of the seat. I didn't try to adjust the lumbar support, but I am now wonder if that will solve it.
i am so glad i read this. I thought i was the only one with this problem. At first it was great but now it's painful. I logged 1000+ miles within a few days of owing her and my back, neck etc are so soar. I came from an escalade with huge comfy seats. Maybe i need a cushion in there.
Other than that, I would highly recommend the Active steering. It's worth every penny and then some. The six speed is great, power band is excellent, especially from the mid-range up, steering is perfect, navigation is excellent, Voice recognition is dead on even with the sun roof and windows down. The bluetooth in the car could be better, my friends complain but i don't care.
Its a great car and I would recommend you all to check one out and drive one before buying any other coupe.
Good luck and happy buying

damn I liked the seats in my 04 but I love the seats in the 08. I dont know what you guys are talking about. Especially being able to recline it far back and ise the teloscopic wheel to bring it back with the seat so you can relax. The seats are great
