I just got through watching the slide show that Infiniti has on the new '08 G coupe.

I'm as we speak.

They put in all the refinements that I really wanted in my '05 Coupe.

Can someone remind me again why I like MY car and shouldn't upgrade? It's so damn tempting!!!

Luckily finances prohibit it or I'd be in trouble.

2 years left of school + 4 years of residency + 5 years of paying back student loans= 2018 G coupe?

Ummm are you going to be a doctor? You'll have pleanty of cash, especially if it only takes you 5 years to pay back your loans. My loans will be about 150k when all is said and done just for Law School. Feel MY pain.......

 

Yeah, but if you're truly successful in law school and you end up representing the right clients, you won't have any trouble paying it back.

 

I'll be in the same boat on Law School.
Hoping I don't need loans, but they're low interest so it might be smarter to take them and invest the money I do have.
Still 2 years of undergrad, then maybe a year break, then Law School.

Ahhhhh, school sucks!

I'm in my final year of law school. If the legal loans haven't killed me. The infiniti loan won't start. This is my justification.

 

Where are you going to school? What kind of law do you want to practice?

I go to Catholic Law in DC. I am in NYC for the summer, I received a summer associate offer with the Brooklyn DA, so it looks like it will be Trial Advocacy for me!

By the way, hasn't that slideshow mentioned above been on their site for at least a month and a half? If there is a new one, please direct me in the right direction. Thanks!

 

In other words, you should try to represent entertainers, athletes and others filthy rich people that seem to ummmm....."attract" trouble.

 

yeah. I meant to take a year break to save loot, but ended up taking a two year one. It's really dumb unless you have parents to pay for school for you to pay for it as you go by yourself or dump a whole ton of your own saved money in it forgoing loan help.

 

meh, I want to practice international corporate law so money shouldn't be a problem. It's just money though.

 

Im pissed! I don't know why but for some time now i haven't been able to connect to www.infiniti.com at home.

 

I remember those days, seemed like it would take forever to get through. In 3-4 years, the light will start to shine at the end of the tunnel. Once you are past the intern-first year and are a 2nd year, life gets better; slowly but surely. Hang in there! Yes, it is well worth it...for many reasons.

BTW... don't be over zealous paying back student loans. Consolidate with a 30 year payback. Interest rates for student loans are low and when locked into a low rate, you'll find the $400/month note to be no problem to make. Also, a portion of student loan payments are an itemized deduction (in time, you'll be looking for every deduction possible). Wouldn't you rather have the sum of the loan in your bank?

I have not practiced full time for nearly 12 years as my hubby is in the same gig and does very nicely. He is one of "those"..Columbia NY Med, I studied in Manila. Coming from two who are just a bit ahead in the game than you..."go for it and have fun doing it" (med that is).

Another thought for those who are in med or law... My hubby was Air Force before med then returned as an officer once he was done. Not only was his training exceptional, but more than half of his loans were part of the compensation package. Something you may want to consider.

For the attorney to be...we have a few siblings and two first cousins who go by the title, "esquire" or "barristar". They practice international / corporate law, family and trust law, general tort law, and one who is criminal law. While they all make a comfortable living, international / corporate seems to be well ahead when it comes to $$$$, representing large companies; big names such as Shell Oil. It took him a CPA, then JD, then Harvard International School of something (don't recall), while networking throughout the years. Perserverance pays.
