MPG's for the G37 6 Spd
 

Hey guys Im staring to fall in love with the G37 I was wondering does anyone know how many miles City/Highway the car would do I heard some people say it will do better then the current G35 Coupe 6 spd Please post as much info as u have about the G37 pics also thanx a lot.

Depends on gearing really. If the power output is similar to the current gen and the gears dont chang expect to see 15-22 depending on how aggresively you drive.

I wouldnt expect it to be better than the current gen realistically.

I saw 19-27 somewhere.

15-22 is a joke. That's also assuming its the same engine, which we now know it is not.

It's going to be a TT diesel hybrid getting 60 city /40 hwy while still packing 350 horses :p

Yeah but our engines are rated for better gas mileage than they actually get, and I was speaking in terms of average MPG. If you drive the car hard, as many do here, you will most likely get 15mpg...if you drive it like a granny between city and hwy, you will probably average 22mpg.

The g37 is not going to be a toyota prius, be realistic here :rolleyes:

Infiniti has already stated the MPG will be better than the current engines due to VVEL.

True. I get 15mpg in the city with my FX, when quoted 16-21.

335i gets 20-29. We'll see. :)

I average about 18.5-19mpg on the 07 Sedan mostly city driving.

If the '08 Coupe MT has EPA fuel economy numbers of 20/27, that represents a phenomenal increase in fuel economy when you take into account these factors:

1. Increase in HP from 298 to 330 +/-

2. Increase in torque from 260 to 270 ft-lbs.

3. Increase in curb weight of anywhere between 90-140 lbs depending upon which trim level.

4. For MY 2008 cars, the EPA is introducing a revised methodology for fuel economy testing which will yield generally lower, more realistic numbers. So a MY '08 car with 20/27 MPG numbers would have been rated at 23/29 MPG under the old methodology.

So the new valvetrain is allowing an engine with about 6% more displacement to produce 4% more torque and 11% more horsepower while increasing fuel economy by 21% on a car that is 3-4% heavier. WOW!!!

I amazing how infiniti can make an engine with more strokes, more hp, more torque and still manges to make the engine more fuel efficient than the last gen. Especially G37, the car is heavier than last gen too!!

Before I start celebrating about the improved MPG, I want to see it demonstrated in the real world. I'll believe the consensus of actual MPG results on the street than some number posted on the car's sticker.

Infiniti can say whatever it wants. until you actually drive the car then you can make all the claims you want.

seeing how its a bigger engine, heavier car, i dont see it getting 'better' gas mileage then the current coupe.

With the new VVEL it's said to be 10% more fuel efficient, also its got a 40% improvement in emissions...

so lol if im getting 16mpg... thats 17.6 improvement.

uh 17.6 not good enough.
