Lightbulb Winter Tire Plan

Hello,

This guy on eBay claims that the D0300-1M025 wheel fits correctly over big brake calipers found on the Sport G37 (I specifically have a 2008 model.)

Infiniti 18" Wheels Rims Factory OEM M35 M37 M56 G35 G37 Maxima Altima Rogue eBay

Basically my question - is he right? Will they fit over the brakes? The low prices make them perfect for snow wheels, as far as I'm concerned. Yes I know the rear tires will be thinner than stock but it should be fine. And that way I can rotate them. 225/50R18 size snow tires will keep speedometer error very low. Thanks!

Should fit. Lots of people run Journey 18" wheels with Akebono brakes as a winter setup. The tire size you mentioned is just right.

Also consider 19" Rays from the G35. They can be found in affordable price ranges (~$400). I run these as my winter setup with 245/40/19 square Blizzaks. I know, narrower tires for winter, but they were cheaper than 225/45/19s at the time.

Here's the current list of 18s at tirerack.com that will clear sport brakes, just select winter tire & wheel pkgs w/ Coupe Sport pkg and then select any of the 18" tires, this will then get you to this list of 18s that will clear. I'd go that route (or those 19s that Flash Guy has)
