Rain leaking in car

For any of you fellow convertible drivers: it was POURING yesterday night (to the point where i had the wipers on fastest setting and still couldn't see anything) and I was driving down the highway going maybe 40-50 mph, when i felt drops of water fall into my car.

Have any of you guys had this problem before? It leaked in exactly where the roof and the windshield connect. It was leaking through the rubbery corners of the windshield. It wasn't a steady flow of water, but was like.. 2-3 drops per minutes. I will definitely call the dealer about it this week, but I just wanted some input about if I was the only one that has experienced it or not. Thanks.

Sorry to hear it.
Thankfully, I have not had any leaky roof issues. I am also in NJ and have been @ LBI for the month of August and even with the massive rains and flooding from Huricane (OK, Tropical Storm) Bill I havent had any issues. <knocking on wood>

I suspect a poorly seated or attached rubber seal is the issue and it is likely fixed with just a quick adjustment at the dealer.

Good luck & keep us posted.
-Barry

Were your windows closed? lol just messing

Hopefully it's just a small seal issue and nothing serious

Its going to be hard to duplicate that rain for the idiot dealership. They will probably "try" to duplicate it and say nothings wrong and send you packing. Thats what they did about my sunroof.

I've been through some good rainstorms here in the southeast and seen no signs of a leak.

Good luck hopefully it's a quick fix.

I noticed at the car wash (Wand type) some water beading the inside of the passenger window. I try not to force any water from the wand on the weather seals between the roof and windshield but some got in anyway. So far, no water when it rains.
You may want to invite the dealer to use their car washing wand (they should have one in their shop) or offer to take the service guy to the car wash with you.

Just a followup for anybody that cares.. I went to the dealer to get it looked at, and they said the same thing. There's no way to duplicate the rain water while driving 50mph+, so they just replaced the rubber seal on both sides of the car.

I asked them if they have experienced this problem on other verts, and told me I'm the first one at that dealer, but other dealers have seen it before in other areas where it rains a little more frequently than jersey.. so convertible owners beware when driving in the rain. Just FYI.

I don't have a convertible but, when put my car through the car wash I also got some drops of water coming in from the driver side window towards the front of it.

I have the same trouble, I took my car to the dealer for them to adjust the window. the glass seem not come rise up all the way around the side mirrors are. The dealer adjusted mine to come up about 1/16-1/8 of an inch and you can tell the difference; the gap before adjustment would have water leaking onto the small treble speakers are - opposite side of the side mirrors. hope this helps
