Turbotwiggs's Slow Build Thread

Ok so there is a lot goin on right now with my G so Rochester recommended I start a build thread lol. Well here you go.....
I bought this thing for $18,000 with an a$$ ton of hail damage. A few months later we got into another really bad hailstorm and made it much worse. Luckily I have a buddy that does awesome body work and he hooked me up big time.

Also before I go any further I must give a huge thank you to my wife for putting up with my itch for buying car stuff.... it can be a pain sometimes.

So it started out as a slate blue with absolutely nothing done to it. My buddy told me I could do any color I wanted, so being a previous Subaru freak I chose the Subaru World Rally Blue with a nice paint scheme to it. Here are some pics of the process that went on with it. All the way from taping off to some teaser pics.... It will be completely finished on wednesday.

You can see all the circles showing where the damage was....

Hats off to all the body work / paint guys. I don't know how you do it. Looks like it's going to be a clean car when your "finished". Congrats

I'll pass the word. Also because it's been asked once before I'm doing a carbon fiber hood and trunk because they were so badly damaged they had to be replaced anyway and I like the look.

Also I'll put on the performance stuff one piece at a time to be able to see if I "feel" a difference. Can't dyno because the closest awd dyno is 5hrs away. So if anyone has any questions ask away. I will also do an in depth install DIY on the intake manifold.

Love the unique color choice and the intake/UIM power mods. Not feeling the grille color yet, but maybe so when it all comes together. Meh on CF body panels. Double Meh on the 17" OEM rims, painted or otherwise.

Sure is interesting stuff, though. Hats off to you, buddy.

Subscribed.

Big  to that.

Although without the tune, your intake and UIM mods likely won't be all you're hoping for. What are the exhaust mod(s)?

Awesome details of your "new" G, and sweet car seat for the kiddo, you're gonna be a good dad :)
Should be an interesting mix and look forward to the progress, excellent to have a bud as a paint pro too.

No exhaust mods for now but looking at doing HFC's or text pipes and we will see what happens from there
