Greg's "How not to lower your G" Thread
Here is my another experiment since some of you in the past had encouraged me to cut the springs to lower my car. And I did... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRV6iQbBCB0

Nice video on what not to do Greg. Can the spring end that was cut be compressed to make it flat though?
|
People told you to cut the springs on your (probably) $45,000 car? Just get some freakin Eibach's they're only like 300 bucks. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Did you buy a new spring to replace the one you cut?
|
i guess the cutting and drilling finally came back to bite you in the butt huh?
sorry that had to happen man its a shame |
Geezus dude, what is wrong with you?! You got a $5,000 watch on in the video and you are cutting springs?!!
|
Welcome home from Europe. I bet your car was ecstatic to see you back home.
|
Some people actually do this all the time. I believe UNV would know about it but he disappeared.
On another note. I'm selling my stock springs if you're interested. I don't know how much though. |

^^^^ ooooooo good thinking nogood.

I can't believe anyone who owns a car like this would even consider such a thing. Why even ask the question. Springs cost $150-$300. You can't afford that you're in the wrong car. I don't think anyone should do it with any car actually.

Hahaha, The springs were provided to me by NeverBoneStock. I bought them with the idea to cut them properly. The cutting went well, I purposely had the plastic on the spring to watch the temperature. The operation is totally safe and doesn't heat up the spring at all. The fit is however unacceptable for safety reasons. Even thou you compress the spring and it sits better there would be a danger of it sliping off the bottom cradle. The procedure would be very succesful if the diameter of the spring would be even. Some cars have them perfectly round but ours ends narrower than the rest of the spring rendering it unsafe to install. I hope you are enjoing the experiment.
