2009 G37 Stock HID's?
I am trying to switch back to the OEM HID bulbs in my car. I currently have 8k and it's to blue and need more light on the road. What kelvin temp would be the original color that my car came with. 4300k or 5000k? I thought it was 4300 but somebody said i would get more light out of the 5k on the road. What should i do?

4300k is oem, You should be fine with the 5500k ones as far as light, mishimoto xb35 has them and they're really good quality.
|
Ill sell u my oem HIDs if your interested....Pm me

I believe they are 4300k, most OEM HIDs go up to about 5500k as mentioned above. Anything over that and you're losing more usable light output the higher you go in temperature. 4300k is described as "cool white" (normal white) and 6000k is "ice white" which contains a hint of blue light.

I would recommend osram cool blue intense bulbs. They are the rolls royce of all HID bulbs and are rated 5000K - 5500K. Pure white with absolutely no blue color. I have them in my G37. My 08 TL has factory 4300K bulbs. The difference between the two is huge. |
5000K is pure white and will give you more light production than 8000K for sure. I would go with that over the 4300K for a slightly cleaner look.

Just bought these mishimoto xb35. :)

Quick question:
Are the ones spoken of above a direct replacement for OEM? No ballast work or anything like that? Thanks, Sean |
According to this review, Direct replacements.
"Great I bought these bulbs for my 2014 Infiniti Q60 coupe. I have done some research and if you have a 2012 G37/Q60 or up you may have trouble with aftermarket HID bulbs which I did. The headlight lighting system do not work well with many aftermarket/cheap bulbs, they will flicker and shut off. I found out about the Retrofit Source website and found these D2S Morimoto XB35 bulbs and I can confirm that these will work with your G37/Q60 coupe. They look great I am happy with the purchase, great price too." Purchased these for my '09 G37s coupe in the 6k color temp. Awesome bulbs and have no on/off/flicker issues whatsoever. Went from the 6yr old stock bulb to this and night and day difference. Light is white with a hint of blue and my cut off has somewhat of a rainbow effect towards the edges. If you're debating whether these are a good aftermarket bulb then don't wait, purchase yours today. You won't be disappointed. Have a Infiniti G37 which comes with OEM Phillips 85122+ HIDs and while the output was great, the color I wanted was lacking. I decided to order the 6500K XB35 bulbs from TRS and couldn't be happier with the color. It has a pure white with a tinge of blue (much like some LED headlights on the road today even though most of them are rated at 5500K guessing because of their color band). The output on the road is great, there is a ever so slightly noticeable drop in output as expected going up to a higher K but not dramatic and the bulbs light up the road great with what to my eyes look like the same beam pattern as with the OEM Phillips bulbs. Overall great bulb and well worth the money. |
Any D2S bulbs will directly replace the OEMs. Depending on what you buy, however, the quality may not be the same.

?? I have been buying DD stuff for years and never had an issue with their HID's till this year. I tried 3 sets on my 09 sedan and all of the bulbs, (6) "would not auto turn on or turn on all all with out me flipping the switch 4-5 times" on the passenger side headlight only? Only the stock bulb worked. DD says if you have a 11+ their HIDs wont work? Even tho I had them installed on my 11 for 3 years with out any issue? We'll see what happens with these |

We'll see what happens with these I'm not sure I'm following you. :dunno: So you tried 3 sets on your '09 and they didn't work? But you tried them on your '11 and, despite what DD says, they've worked for three years? Sorry if I'm being dense...but I'm interested in some 5000-5500 Ks for a potential future mod. Sean |

I couldn't get any of the 6 bulbs to work on the passenger side and gave up and just put the stockers back in, An yes I ran my 2011 Coupe with their 8K HID's, fogs and DRLS for the whole time I had it 3 years. Turned it in with them in it also. "Pic below" The D2S:Morimoto XB HID I just got are 6500k., 56$ shipped :) |
Thanks.
That's a great price!!! I was looking at D2S - Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI HID Bulbs and they were like 3X the price of the Mori's. Sean |
