I've seen these kickplates installed and they require wires to be run to both sides of the vehicle.

IMHO, they look cool, but not $300 cool

I just spoke with the parts department in my city and he said he excepts to have these in stock by early next week. He seems to think the connections will be at the footwell. Says its easy install. He assured they are very nice and looks nothing like the pictures floating around on the internet. As soon as I get them I will post pictures.

I work for the Port of Los Angeles where Infiniti vehicles are shipped from Japan.

I personally have seen them being installed. I took a tour of the Infiniti facility and actually watched someone installing the kickplates.

As standard equipment or an extra cost option? Mine that is ordered is coming with them although I didn't order them. I suppose they will remove them and replace them with the non illuminated ones at the port.

ok i must say, these look a lot better in person than i thought they would. which is good because they were installed at port, not at the dealer like i thought they were going to be.. so i didn't get to tell them i wanted to keep the old ones.

i should have some good pictures of them up later today

They look great in person...

The installation kit included is most impressive... They come with a T-Harness that plugs between two harness connectors with pig-tails to plug the kick plates into directly...

Jason from Riverside INFINITI has some great images of these on his ebay store... I know he offers great prices to forum members...

If the source is LEDs, yes they can probably be swapped out if you have soldering skills. If they are surface mount you will need expert soldering skills. I sure hope they are white, because I replaced all the lighting in the car with bright white LEDs and it looks great.
