"Phonebook <voicetag>" command doesn't work / How to add multiple phonebook entries?

In the cheat sheet is says "Phonebook <Voicetag> Dials the phone number registered in the specified "voicetag"."

I have a voicetag called "HOME". When I say "Phonebook HOME", it does not work - it just opens the phonebook. What is even more lame is that when I say "Phonebook", it brings up the list, at which point I say "HOME", and then it prompts with "Please say DIAL". Are you kidding me? There is no other option available other than Dial, but I still have to say it? What is the point of having voicetags if it takes 3 different commands to dial a single voicetag? Is there an easier way to do this? I should just be able to say "Dial HOME", but noooooooooo, that would be too easy.

Also, is there anyone else here that feels it is a pain in the butt to copy each entry from the "Downloaded Phonebook" to the regular phonebook one by one? There is no easy way to copy them all over? Quite honestly, I can't even understand why they seperate the downloaded phonebook and the regular one. It seems like all the gadgets that should make things easier are really just making things more difficult. Don't get me started on loading music to the music box.

If I am doing something wrong, or if there is a better way of doing it, please let me know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have to say "CALL HOME" when your calling a saved phonebook entry, the command is "call (name) Device (mobile, home, office, etc.). just note you'll have to re train the car, it doesn't recognize voice tags only saved on the phone, the car needs to learn the voice tags itself.

When i call my girlfriend, she's stored in my voice recognition already, i say "Call Kerameh Mobile" or "Call Kerameh Office." I've never said phonebook.

Well maybe the system will recognize "call" and internally map it to the "phonebook" command. If so, that's great to know!

I'm glad that works for you, and I'll be trying that out after work as well.

Well, I have tried both of the following, and neither worked:

"CALL Home"

"PHONEBOOK Home"

And the manual mentions neither as usable commands. All it says is that I can bring up the phonebook by saying "Phonebook". Completely useless. I still have to say 3 different commands to dial a voicetag.

I know that I have the updated "stripped" command set because I can't change radio stations or temperature on the a/c - is it possible these commands were removed too?

"PHONEBOOK <voicetag>" was removed in the stripped version. I know, it sucks.

I'm really trying to understand the logic behind this. Why would they want to make it more difficult to make a call while driving? Or adjust your a/c, or change the radio station? I thought Infiniti was OVERLY concerned with safety, which is why they disable certain features while driving. Well they just made the car a whole lot less safe.

Dumb question cause I'm sure I already know the answer - there is no way to go back to the prior firmware version of the system? What if I complain to the dealer?

What's weird is that I just reviewed the TSB for the "Infiniti Voice Recognition System Update" (ITB07-042), and it mentions nothing about the "Call <voicetag>" or "Phonebook <voicetag>" being deleted. From the TSB:

System Commands related to the following are deleted in the newer system:

Navigation Specific POI names
Specific map zoom (scale values)
Phone Numbers spoken as groupings (i.e. 17 stated as "seventeen")
Audio Direct satellite radio stations
Radio presets
Direct tuning frequencies
Direct CD track numbers
Climate Control Direct temperature settings (60 – 90 degrees)

Here is a link to the "new" owners manual reflecting the changes...
