You shouldn't notice any change in mpg. If you were going to larger & heavier wheels & tires then you would.

Best Tire is the H-Rated Continental - No Seriously

If you don't plan on driving the car to its speed limit, but only up to 130 MPH, then nothing beats the H-rated Continental. Oh, and not only does it outperform V and faster tires in the dry, wet, and around corners, it is quieter, gets better fuel economy, and lasts a lot longer (800 AA rated) Check it out: Continental*TrueContact

If tires shops could legally install them, that would be great.

You have to take your wheels to a tire shop and have them dismount the old tires. Make a second trip with the bare wheels and new tires. They wouldn't know what car the wheels came from unless you blurt it out.

Is there any real good reason to increase the size of the tire. I dont think anyone is really staring at my tires.

I can't make sense of your question in the context of this thread. What do you mean by "increase the size"?

Is there any benefit of increasing my tire size over oem sizes in terms of performance vs just looks? I.e. Getting bigger tires 245 front/275 rear. 19 inch rims.

You get more grip with wider tires... but make sure that your wheel size matches the tire size. If you have the OEM 19" sport wheels then I believe 275 is the widest allowed for the rear.

The main thing is getting quality tires regardless of size. The wider tires will give a more planted feel and along w/ a bit more camber will provide better cornering grip. Like 93 mentioned, don't want to go wider than a 275 on that rear 9" width wheel, and TBH I'd go no wider than a 265 on that one.

if you went 265 do you go with 265/40 or 265/35 I have no idea. I certainly dont want to upset the oem shocks struts steering or the like.

265/35 would go well with a 235/40 front, but those sizes aren't as common as the 245/40 & 275/35 so it depends what tires you're wanting and if they're available in those combos. That's one reason more decide on the 245/275 setups.

More contact area to grip or to hydroplane it works both ways. With the added friction brakes will wear faster as well.

Wider tires will help plant the car in corners better and increase steering response. Down side is a reduction in wet/snow/ice conditions due to a wider path the car has to cut through.

conflicting advice and specs

Hi Neal, Tire rack online chat just told me 275/35/19 is too 'short' and he has no other recommendations other than oem for stock 2013 g37s coupe tires. I found this odd. Interesting 2 other queries. Overall diameter will be a little less than oem (though wider).

Finally according to :Infiniti G 2013 - Wheel & Tire Sizes, PCD, Offset and Rims specs - Wheel-Size.com, the oem rims are not 8.5 and 9, but rather 8 and 8.5? (unlike previously posted on this site as fact)

225/45ZR19 94W
245/40ZR19
8Jx19 ET45
8.5Jx19 ET50 5x114.3 M12 x 1.25 66.1 2.1

I just dont want to mess up something! someone help clear up the above. thanks.

The 275's are a fit we dont show for some reason. People have been using it for years with no problems. OEM G37 sport coupe wheels are 19x8.5 front and 19x9.0 rear, which can also be verified at transwheel.com. You can use the 285's, but if you're having issues and/or want a touch more conservative fit, the 275 works fine.

Thanks Neal, Im finding another discrepancy while I search both transwheel and other sites; There are both 30mm offsets part number aly73756u (bp115mm)
and 45mm offset ending in part number 59u (4.5 inches b.p)

4.5 inches is 115mm but 2 different part numbers? How the heck do I know which is true oem?
