DIY slotted/drilled rotor install
DIY slotted/drilled rotor install
so it was a beautiful sunday ,, finally had time to install the rotors ,, really was easy ,, degree of difficulty is 2/5,, definitely love the new look together with the gt30 ,, here's an insight how we did it
jack the car and remove wheels,, we first did the rear so dont forget to use the stoppers in the front ill tell you why later

now we will remove the metal ring around the rotor with the use of a flat head

this is for the REAR rotors ,,,we will use a 19 mm wrench or whatever you prefer to remove the 2 screws holding the caliper ,, they could be found behind it

so support the break caliper with something or let a friend help you out to hold it because it is now dangling and still connected to the breakline,,if the rotor could not be removed by hand ,, you could use a soft hammer ,,and do a little pounding ,, remember i told you to use stoppers in the front? the reason is that you release the handbreak so you could easily rotate the rear wheel and hit it with a soft hammer a little bit so it will loosen up,, then once the rotor is removed ,, you could put your new rotor back on ,, by the way,, before installing the new rotor, clean them up with soap and water first ,, so your breaks will not be contaminated with dirt , dust , or oil

now with the front
same thing ,, the only difference is that ,, we will remove two bolts above/behind the rotor .. and two bolts holding the caliper itself,, total of 4 bolts
2 bolts above/behind the rotor (use 12 mm)

two bolts behind the caliper (instead of 19 mm just like the rear , well use a 22 mm)

now the caliper is loose

now ,, since the front are quite different than the rear ,, we could not use the pounding with a soft hammer method ,, hehe ,, so we did this ,, just put a 12 mm OEM screw in the 5th hole and the rotor will simply come out

install the rotor and tadah!

comparison pics of OEM with the drilled/slotted

installed not driving the car yet (rotors are still black)

so after a lil bit of driven ,the black coating will wear out and your rotors will just shine
enjoy and smile ,, your done and admire your new rotors

finally ,, thanks to my cool DAD for helping me out with this install,, LOVE YOU DAD

If i'm not mistaken, your rotors are on backwards. I believe they should look like this:
