Nice!
My wife is in the market for a new ride and we discussed the SS especially since she can get back to a manual. She wasn't thrilled with the narrow trunk opening and limited trunk space but she is coming from an Armada.
Right now I'm trying to convince her we NEED a turbo Macan or Jeep GC SRT.

For power I did the Rotofab CAI. Adds 13HP and 5 tourques to the stock numbers to make them 428 and 420 respectively. Cosmetics I did the Vitesse Aluminum paddles shifters, the full Holden Conversion (except airbag) including badges and center caps, painted the engine cover, added some LS Series Billet covers, shock tower covers, 20% tint all around expect windshield, Elite Engineering Catch can and separate Air/oil separator.
As soon as Kooks fixes their molding process for the SS specific Headers ill get those and the x pipe with green converter so I don't through a check engine light. Right now the SS community has identified some random fitment issues with the Kooks headers that they are working on fixing.

Performance - SS.
Handling - SS, but I prefer lighter cars and the G's hydraulic steering.
Interior - G, but close.
Fit and Finish - probably G but jury is still out.
Looks - G.
Reliability - G but jury is still out.
Sound - SS.
Exclusivity - SS, unless talking about manual equipped sedans.
Mod ability - SS for performance, G for looks.
Bang for buck - Wash but I do believe the SS should be priced around 40k and not 45k.
With that said, both are awesome cars and its easy to see why someone would want either one of them.
To you SS owners, please throw some exhausts on those bad boys and show us what a car is really supposed to sound like.

Does the SS have a 5yr / 100k mile powertrain warranty like other GM's?
I'm with you OP on the whole auto thing. I've had a manual in most of my previous cars, but with kids I was just done with it. The newer auto's are so good nowadays I really prefer them now.
I was at my local track a few weeks ago and a gentleman had a white one that was running 11.70's with the typical LS mods. These things are awesome cars. If I could have afforded one I'd be in one of these instead of the G.

Keep in mind the LS3 / LS platform has been in almost everything V8 coming from the GM camp since 97'. These things have taken a beating for years and most of them making it 200k+ with ease in trucks so I'd say the engine reliability is on par with the VQ. I realize there is a lot more to reliability other than the engine, but it is a big part of it.

The great thing about them and the VQ is like this too, is that there's is an abundance of mods for it. And because of the wide array of uses for the LS3 there's a lot of trail and error to learn from.
There have been more than a few runs by guys who dropped in Whipple's and superchargers that have timed out under 11.00 seconds.
This whole Catch Can craze was started as bleed over from the guys that own Camaro's and Corvette's and also own SS's, Their experience with the LS3 and the common knowledge that they run a bit dirty, is how Elite came up with a special package just for the SS's.

Yea, but the nice thing about LS3 mods is they actually make more useable power. That motor is restricted like crazy. The VQ is just about tapped out NA.

Sweet ride. A real sleeper! Car thieves and police might not know what it really is! I wish it came in a coupe. That would start to chip away at Camaro sales, I guess.

As much as I'm predisposed to not like GM products, I'm feeling the love for this SS more and more. Stealthy, roomy, V8 sleeper that's moddable... kind of hard to not like that combo.

They didn't do much to the 2016. Bi-modal exhaust and a couple of new vents and new wheels. Not enough for me to trade mine in yet.
