I like your idea with the rear bumper rochester. Did you get it painted matte black or is that vinyled matte black?

If it was vinyl, did you do it yourself and was it time consuming and hard?

That's vinyl. It was done three years ago, and I would say it's held up pretty good since, northeast winters and all.

That said, there are two issues when vinyl wrapping this section of the car. One is the exhaust cut-outs; it's an awkward space, and I don't have it covered well. The other is the underside of the bumper corners, where the wrap tapers to a point, and gets a *lot* of road debris abuse.

The wrap was cut and applied by a shop that butchered the job. I took it to a second shop where someone with skills cleaned up all the cut-lines. Unfortunately, "fixing" the wrap-around corners meant the lines there don't actually follow the crease in the bumper. It's a subtle thing, because the crease fades away towards the bottom. But if you look at it, you can see it, and then you can't unsee it. Drives me nuts. I'd like to get it removed and painted matte black, but since it's still passable, that's not high on my list of priorities.

Yikes!

I knew someone would run with this idea as photo art. And I suppose all along I knew it would be R1cky, LOL.

What's the exhaust? That's an odd thing, those little trapezoid support brackets under the tips. I wonder what that's all about?

here's just a partial rear shot of my G. more important are the other rides in the photo. i spent a day this weekend taking turns driving each one up the sea-to-sky highway out of Vancouver heading up to Whistler and back: F430 spider, Gallardo LP560-4, R8 (V8) and of course the GTR.

the GTR was brutal fast. most torque by far, which is no surprise. for a daily driver the GTR or Audi wins, but the Lambo was a blast and easily got the most looks. but while i always though Ferraris were jerk cars, now i get it. there is something special that over-rides one's common sense if they have the means.

$500? IDK... that's a heck of gift, but I don't think I'd pony up my own money for it.

Very cool, however it happened.

Would have been awesome if you had Dat Azz photo of all four cars, including yours.

^ yeah, about $500 for a few hours of driving. includes a mountainside gondola ride part way for lunch. the wife did well with this birthday present. seems like a lot of dough, but our CAD provides some sticker shock (would be ~$400 USD). even still, once you open the cars up on the highway, dollars and sense seem to vanish in more ways than one, so i'd probably pay to do it again. the insurance is crazy expensive the guys were telling me - far more than the car payments.

don't forget, at the moment everything costs more here. the average price for a detached house in Vancity is over $1.9MM. but we all make millions a year here so who cares, right? yeah, that's it.

and yes, i could have done better with azz shots, but it was tough to focus on logical things with adrenaline pumping as it was.
