Head Light project
#18
Ok so all the parts should be here this week well the last of it (paint)
I received all my stuff from TRS and it all looks good gota go out and grab a 12v battery to function check and some wires with connectors.
So this is my plan:
Pick up a harness like this one:
Diode Dynamics Accessory Wiring Harness - Universal - Angel Eyes - Lighting
then wire it up to the battery and the halos. The harness has a relay in it which only signals the halos to come on when there is a 12v power source which I will run that wire into the cabin. I will tap the cigarette lighter fuse and run that to a on/off switch which will then connect to the wire run into the cabin. that way I can choose when to turn my halos on and off and if I forget to turn them off they will turn off when I shut the car off not draining my battery
and if all of that doesn't work I m just gonna wire it to the DRL

Wow don't know how I missed this thread! Sucks to see the LED being out. I didn't check mine as thoroughly, but since they are behind the shroud so hopefully it is harder to notice if there are any out. Since that halo is on the outside I'm sure that would really bother you if you proceed..
Too bad you will have to delay once again.

Those are going to look stunning when you get it 100%, damn shame such a tiny LED could cause all that rework
That was the main reason I didn't do any lighting mods under the housing cover, just too paranoid about something going out and having to do the whole PITA project over again.
Best of luck through this and I know you'll get it perfect soon

Threadjack, but I thought I might add that I used 2 of the paper spacers that came with my STI-R lenses from TRS plus the stock paper spacer.
If you have a power source to test the lights prior to sealing them that would probably be a good idea. I didn't do any tests because I got lazy, but this is what my cutoff looks like.
It seems I need to adjust the passenger light some more.

I wonder if that's how they're shipping them now, I notice they now sell "spacer kits" which they didn't previously
CC, I would triple up the thickness size of the cardboard spacers for better cutoff since you still have them open, or maybe hit up TRS for a spacer kit since you're still waiting.
