Wheel Rim size recommendation 18" or 19" - G37X

Hello Experts,

Need your recommendation on wheel size for G37X 2013.
Currently having 17" OEM rims with 225/55R-17 Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 XL , now i am planning to replace this OEM wheel with new better after market wheels along with good summer tires (thinking MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT).

But now i am in huge confusion with size of the wheel which i should go, is it 18" or 19"?

I am more worried about if i go to 19" will it be any fitment problem or other technical difficulties along with rough ride quality.

And if i go with 18" wheel can i go with 245/45ZR18 size tires? since it is AWD will go with same size for all wheels.

Please suggest me .. any inputs will be appreciated.
Looking forward for your response..

Thanks.
Pramu

Can't go wrong w/ Pilot Super Sports. If you keep your stock suspension (not lowering your G) I'd stick w/ 18s. Check around for wheels that you like in a 18x8.5 +35 offset (give or take a few mm) or a 18x9 +38.

Thank you very much for the response.

I am thinking of 18x8 +48mm offset ( O.Z.ALLEGGERITA HLT), when i spoke with Tirerack they are saying this wheel can fit with 245/45ZR18 size tire.
still i am confused. what is your recommendation.

They will fit but they'll be tucked well into the wheel well, Tirerack is very conservative in their fitment for wheels. I'd check the OZ website and see what offsets they offer and if they have something a bit wider with less positive offset would end up being a better fit.
The offsets and widths I posted above would be a better setup if they have that in the wheel(s) you like.

FWIW the OZ wheels are a quality product so nice choice there!

Looks like OZ only makes those in an 18x8 w/ limited offsets.

American Racing is more of a truck and US Muscle car wheel supplier.

Since you like that OZ style I'd give a look at the Konig Miligram, flow formed casting for lighter, stronger wheel vs. regular cell cast and available in a perfect 18x8.5 +35 offset in black w/ machined undercut or gold/machined, and best of all these only weigh 18 pounds!
Milligram - Konig Wheels
Here's the specific one (18x8.5 +35) in black online
http://www.discounttire.com/buy-whee...ligram/p/51820
And gold

And the Ultraform, also available in the same good sizing and also a 18x9 +38 which is good.
Ultraform - Konig Wheels

And the Rennform in a 18x9 +40 which is also a good fit
Rennform - Konig Wheels

And here's the rest of the Konig Flow formed line, several others will fit too!

Check out TSW Wheels' Rotary Forged line if you're looking for something that fits within their fenders. They vehicle fitment guide is usually an OEM+ fitment so it usually doesn't require fender roll. They even list recommended tire sizes.

Hello Expert.

Thank you for all your inputs, based on your i went and checked KONIG, i liked the Milligram and i am going with 18x8.5 with +35 offset. now my next question is about trie.
Should i go for 245/45ZR18 or 235/45ZR18 size tires? Because today when i spoke with Big O tires here they told me 245/45ZR18 will not fit in front so you should go with 235/45ZR18. i want all standard since it is AWD.

I am not sure whether is 100% correct, please suggest me with right information.

245/45/18 is what you want, you will have zero issues w/ those tires on those wheels.

checked with discount tire , they dont have in stock but i am placing order tomorrow.

Going with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/45/18. getting $90 cheaper in costco than Discount tire.

Once i get this wheels installed thinking to add cold air intake. but one by one.

hello ,
i hit one more road bump, today discount tire called me said that Konig is no more making the Matte Black wheel ( Milligram) which i was decided . Also confirmed same with other online wheels dealers.. now looks like back to square one.

now i am thinking of going for 19 inch wheels as i get better option..
Still thinking of flow formed wheels as per recommendation as they are much stronger and lighter. Any recommendations? I am thinking of ACE or Rohana. Matte Black 19x8.5 size so that i can put 245/45 19 or 245/40 19.

please suggest.
Kali
