Suggestions on Tire Size on 19's?

Planning to get

19x8.5 +35
19x9.5 +40

Should I go 245-40-19
275-35-19 in the rear?

I am also wondering if my speedo will be off?

Just put your OEM tire size in the top section and your new tire in the bottom, it will show you how much your speedo will differ.
those tire sizes sound OK though.

my 19" are a little wider but those are the exact sizes I run to stay within the OEM rolling specs.

225/45/19 up front and 245/40/19 in the rear is perfect, stock coupe tire sizes, speedo should not be affected.

The sizes in your OP would work also, but it depends on the look you want, and how much, if any, your car is lowered.

I'm running same sizes on 19 x 9 and 19 x 10 for my winter set up.

I am not dropped yet... I commute this vehicle over 5k a month. I may or may not drop the vehicle, but it may just be witch swift springs and koni's. Would it look ridiculous without a drop?

If your driving 5k a month you might want to leave the suspension alone unless you're driving on smooth, familiar roads all the time.
19s won't look ridiculous on a stock suspension but would look much better lowered IMO. The Swifts do seem to get good marks for being a more comfortable spring compared to the other lowering springs available however.

Thanks for the Feedback.

I think I am going to go with the sizes I posted above.

Most likely a BfGoodrich Comp 2 or a DWS combo.

The sizes based on my calculations should not rub or anything at all.

You should be fine... Maybe get some Eibach springs and it will look perfect

35s in the rear are gonna blast your rims something awful, unless you drive on perfect roads.

Stick with 40s in the rear, more room for abuse.

2754019? wouldn't that be too tall?

Vini Feb 14, 2013 01:32 AM

Yes it would... it might rub specially with rear passengers

strictlys Feb 14, 2013 01:42 AM

Yeah... I placed the order for the wheels with the specs above.
Planning to put 245-40-19 and 275-35-19

From research I shouldn't have an issue with rubbing or anything.

275/35 is the perfect size for the rears. Don't be fooled by the "35", the sidewall is still pretty much the same height as on a 245/40.

The second number is the aspect ratio. That is a percentage of the width. To get the sidewall height multiply the width by the aspect ratio. These tires have nearly identical sidewall height. You still need to watch out for potholes with either tire.

275 times .35 = 96.25
245 times .40 = 98

the difference is 1.75 mm which is .069 inch.
