Oem Wheel paint

does anyone know what is the oem wheel color for the g37 19's and if so is there anywhere i can buy some?

I asked this same question a month ago or so. Use the search feature and you will find that there is no oem color as the wheel manufacturer uses a proprietary process.

ive had them refinished before so i was hoping to find a place to get the paint in a spray can or something

What happened to your wheels, most oem wheels are hyper silver or machine cut, with clear coat on them

I spoke with Enkei today. As others have suggested and we suspected, the 19 inch Sport wheels are painted with "hypersilver". They told me it is actually a 4-step process. They also confirmed that they do not sell any touch-up paint that matches 'hypersilver', and did not know of one that was close.

I've tried a couple of paints that others have mentioned, a Rustoleum, and a Ford color - neither of them were close enough to be used for touch-ups. It seems the search will continue until someone happens to find by trial and error a stock color that might be close enough.

Just get them powdercoated and they will be much tougher than what the factory paint could ever hope to be.

That's a great idea! Has anyone had their wheels powdercoated? How much did it cost? Any suggestions for places that do it?

Thank you!

I got mine done as when I bought the car it had some small curb rash. The powder coating shop blended it all in and then sprayed it. I got lucky and was able to get a shop to dismount and mount the tires for free when it was all said and done. I believe it came out to like $100 bucks a wheel. Of course that is here in SC so not sure what it would cost you where you live

Those wheels look pretty damaged, they are going to need more than just paint, looks like they need to go get machine cut and then get re-painted

eskalaid 04-21-2012 10:37 PM

i was planning on doing them myself thats why im looking for the paint..so theres nothing on the market that is even close to the oem color?

There are specialty wheel repair places that do repairs mostly for dealerships.

They'll file the abrasions down and paint the repairs. You won't even be able to tell it was damaged.
