I've noticed something...

So after I put on my Vossen cv-1, I've notice that my ride is been much rougher. So my stock wheels(17s from the Sedan G37, I know the ripped me on my wheels) and I've seen it gets a little less MPG on my new wheels. Also driving it pulls left or right much harder when on a little rough pavement. So I was thinking is this from the heavier wheels? Or is it just less tires then the 17s wheels?

well what tires did you get with your cv1's?

It was good year. Forgot the specs, but yes it had the alignment.

Why did they "rip you on the wheels?"
I'd go back to whoever mounted and balanced your wheels.
Hopefully you went with new tires.

I hope you didnt go cheap on tires, bad mistake

Yes they are brand new tires. All seasons good year.

If you orig had 17's...and I'm guessing that you got the CV1's in a 20...but even if you got a 19..because of the bigger rim, you have to get less tire for clearence...less rubber will always result in a rougher ride. As for the pulling to one side, sounds like an alignment issue...just because they were aligned, doesn't mean it was done right.

bigger rims less tire = rougher ride

I mean, I bought the G used. But only came in 17' wheels, which is not standard in the G but ohh well. More reason to buy newer wheels right? lol

P Casey Apr 6, 2011 02:17 PM

all seasonal tires from bridgestone? with cv1's. check what size they are.

seasonalocean Apr 6, 2011 05:17 PM

Then my next question is, why the less gas mileage then before? I was getting around 24 MPG now I get around 19. Maybe cause wheel little heavier?

MSCA Apr 6, 2011 05:26 PM

Lower profile tires = shorter sidewalls = harsher ride.

To figure out your true MPG, you first have to determine if your new tire/wheel set-up is the same overall diameter as the OEM tire/wheel/ set-up. If they are not identical, then you calculations will be off.
