No VDC error as long as you keep rolling diameter within 3% of OEM. If you have AWD you MUST be within 1% front to back variance as well or you will have AWD isssues over 80 mph.

That's good to know....

A side to that, my friend just pushed his car to 285/19... said he wants the car to have more aggressive look. Is that a good or a bad thing? Thought 275 would be just enough size to balance or where you would go up to in tire size?

It depends on the wheel offset and rim width. I run 295s on my RWD on 10" +45s in back.

I wanted to replace with the same tires but they are all on back order ( i get my tires through Discount Tire with road hazard warranty etc). I don't want to get them from Tire Rack i can't get warranty and have my tires replaced right away when some go wrong while im driivng, flat tire, etc...

Does Tire Rack partner with anyone, Discount Tire?

Any feedback on this is appreciated.

Thanks.
We offer two years road hazard protection at no cost and all tires are covered by their manufacture warranty. Tire Rack is not partnered with Discount, however, we have a full network on installers that can service the tire and warranty work here http://www.tirerack.com/installer/index.jsp

I have a 2011 G37 Sedan with 18x7.5 rims both front and rear. What other tires can I go with instead of 225x50x18? Discount Tire says a Plus Zero size is 235x50x18. Will these work with the factory rims above?

You can run 235/50s that would be .39" taller (speedometer off by 1.5%)
OR 235/45s which would be a 1/2" shorter (speedo off by 2%). Don't run wider than 235s on those 7.5s though.

Thanks for the quick response. So there will be no problem with the rim holding the wider tire? I was told by Discount Tire that I could not run a different size because the rim beed would crack.

I ran 235/50s for a couple years on my previous G35 w/ 7.5/8.5 staggered OEM rims, never an issue. Like I said, don't run anything wider than 235s.
Click on this link and select 18" tires, you'll see typical recommended rims on the far right column. If you notice a 235/50 & 235/45 are ok on a 7.5, but NOT a 235/40, and this is due to the smaller sidewall being pinched w/ a narrow wheel. So Discount tire is correct in pointing that out, but in the sizes you would want it will be fine.

blnewt last question. With the wider tires, did you notice a drop in mpg?
