Tire Sizing on stock 19's
 

Hey there,

:dunno:Was wondering if anyone knows the upper fitment sizing possible on stock 19" rims? Stock tire sizes are 225/45/19 Front and 245/40/19 Rear just to remind everyone.

Could i do 245/35/19 Front and 275/30/19 Rear, or something of that sort without rubbing and/or uneven/premature wear issues?

Most common is to run 245/40 on the front and 275/35 on the rear. If you have good tread on the OEM tires, you can just move the rears to the front and buy two OEM matching rear tires in the 275/35 size.

Another common option is to buy an entirely new set and sell your OEM tires or trash them if worn out.

I went with s-Drives and sold my OEM tires which made it a pretty cheap upgrade.

ADDED: Here is a cool tire sizing tool that lets you compare different tire and wheel sizes. OEM offset are +43 front and +45 rear.

Thanks for the help! After using the tire sizing tool you provided along with the one on 1010 tires i was thinking either 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 or 255/40/19 and 285/35/19, running Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's all around. Any thoughts on the preferable sizing between those two, not sure if i need that extra rubber on the front or not.

OEM rim width is 8" front and 8.5" rear.

As per Michelin's specs, 255 is the largest that will fit the rear without being pinched. A 275 should be okay, as they're specced to be on a 9" rim minimum.

The front will fit a 245 no problem.

Running 245s and 275s with Eibach drop on OEMs. I think 285s would be pushing it...

Honestly, I dont think you could tell the difference (visual or feel) between a 275 vs. 285.

how about 245/40/19 front and 255/40/19? I was thinking of going with that set up. or 255/40/19 front and 265/35/19 rrear.

245/275 will work just fine :biggthumpup:

I would actually recommend 255/40/19 and 275/35/19. The car from the factory is pretty neutral, and VDC will compensate for slight oversteer. It can't however, compensate for terminal understeer.

However, I can't confirm fitment of the 255 on the front; 245 has been confirmed to not rub.

Why does everyone go with 245/275, wouldn't the rear be more "bubbled" then the fronts? ? shouldn't 245/255 be more appropriate since the rear wheels are only .5 inch wider than the fronts? 245/255 would coordinate better according to the rim sizes right?

Because it is the mathematical "Plus Zero" upsize for the stock tires which retains the stock rolling radius which allows the ABS, traction control, etc, all to work as designed.

I have a set of tires from my 05 G35 6MT, they are Front:245/35/19 and Rear:275/35/19. Does anyone know if I can use them on an 09 6MT?

No bubbling at all. They filt flush with the wheel lip when installed and properly inflated.
