Running 225's up front and 275's in the rear

I'm thinking of going down that route. Stock size fronts and wider rears. Nitto dealer is out 245/40 to go up front, he suggested 245/35 but heyal no. Anyone went with my similar setup (225 & 275)? What do you guys think?

lol!

Whatever you decide don't use smaller sidewall on stock wheels, i did it on my last car and i scraped all the time and it wasn't even lowered!

Wouldn't that feel weird? Why don't you go with a different brand of tires, or check a different dealer?

You'll be fine bro either way. I'm running stock 225/40/19 up front with Vredstein 275/30/19 on the rear...Get the 35 you'll like them...you know how low I am and how stiff I'm set so If my cars fine you'll be fine

I was forced to go with 285/35 in the rear on stock wheels.. what do you guys think?

I'd like to see pictures of how "bulge-y" that looks. And you're gonna be running 285 with Eibachs and 25mm spacers? Once you get it set up, do you think you can get a picture of how much clearance you're left with (if any)?

well its either that or stock size.. will have to pull the trigger tonight!

AndrewDDS Mar 15, 2009 09:27 AM

Well we're both running Eibach's with stock tires at the moment, but I'm running 15mm spacers and you're running 25s, right? I don't know about you, but my tires sit pretty flush already. I have maybe another 15mm of space before I start rubbing, at most.

Before you pull the trigger, I'd recommend measuring from the side-wall of your tire to the inside of the fender right now. Going from 245 to 285 is going to add 20mm of width. If you don't have 20mm to spare, then 285s will probably rub.

Always remember... Measure twice, cut once (or in this case, order once)!

Thanks for the tips Andrew, I actually have 20mm spacers.. will do the measurements as soon as I go down to my car.

how did this turn out for you sam?

G37Sam Mar 17, 2009 07:41 PM

well, it's like some superpower doesnt want me to change my tires! I COULDNT FIND A SINGLE BRAND that have available tires for me, Closest thing I got to was Potenza's 225/45 in the front and 255/40 for the rears might be going with those

No Invo's, no SP2's, Michelin & Pirelli are too expensive to burn'm lol
