Cleaning the Volk Gt-30's
How do you clean that little area underneath each spoke that remains dirty after washing with a wash mit cause it doesn't quite reach it??
I have a method, but before I reveal it, I wanted to know if anyone else is doing it the same way on the same wheels or any wheels that have a similar hard to reach area... These pics define the area I'm referring to. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...7/P1030617.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...7/P1030618.jpg |
I have a very thin cloth that slides up underneath the spoke that clean it very well.

My method for getting that area of the wheel clean is an improvement on the "very thin cloth" approach that Blackjack uses. Using a small micro fiber towel from Costco, I cut my own custom shaped cloths that are very thin at each end to make insertion a breeze but I go very wide in the middle so when I pull it back and forth, it cleans top to bottom, side to side, all at the same time. I can clean two spokes at a time this way. Simple, but ingenious IMO, something you can’t buy, you just make the right size at home. I do this last after spraying with a pressure washer, then a soap and water scrub with a wash mit, rinse and then dry with an air hose, which just leaves me with a little dirty/brown area under each spoke left to clean.
