i saw a couple of threads about tpms sensor going off. i had the same issue on my 06 coupe every time the weather turned cold. my 37 hasn't had this issue, and i am aware the tires are nitrogen filled (nitro valve stem caps on wheels and nitro notice in the glove box). is this standard issue from infiniti now?

I am pretty sure the Nitrogen filled tires is a dealer add-on. It is not standard. One of those things they sometimes ask their customers if they want it But a lot of times add it on without letting the customer know.

perhaps it is a pio. i never requested it, and didn't pay anything more for it.

Save your money! Consumer Reports just did a test with two tires filled with air and nitrogen. I air filled tire only lost a pound or two more of air than the nitrogen filler tire after 1 year!

I'd do it just to nearly eliminate the pressure fluctuation that occurs using regular air that happens during driving, the tires warm up and pressure goes way up.

the purpose of nitrogen is not for pressure loss prevention. nitrogen does not expand and contract with heat and cold as ambient air does. hence when the weather changes, nitrogen filled tires will not trigger a low pressure warning.

also, i stated that it came with the car and i was not charged anything for it.

Hey speedracer, how did you find out that you had nitrogen filled tires? I have yet to receive any tire pressure warning either in the winter or when I took it on my 400 mile trip. My friend's parents took their Nissan Titan on the same trip and their tire pressure light always came on after the tires warmed up. They told me they have always had this in all their Nissans and they have just got use to it. I am wondering if my tire level is just at the perfect level or if maybe I have nitrogen filled tires.

i test drove a couple 37's and on the second one, i noticed a nitro card (little larger than a credit card) sitting in the center console. my car had the same card when i picked it up, and then i noticed that the valve stem caps have a nitro logo on the top of them.

From 'Ask a Scientist':
Remember that air is already 80 volume percent nitrogen, so the leak
rate between air and pure nitrogen is not very different. In
addition at pressures of the order of 30 psig all gasses obey the
ideal gas law P*V = n*R*T so there is little gas-to-gas differences
except for Helium which can diffuse into the rubber. FYI I am told
that race cars use nitrogen instead of air to prevent oxidation of
the rubber in the tires at the high operating temperatures in a race
car tire. Makes chemical sense but I do not know that it is the case
first hand.
