Time to plan a sunset cruise!
Yeah Amanda, I had to beat you to the post for once!
Absolutely awesome time.
I'm already playing with some ideas for a sunset photo shoot. Like location and individual rolling shots. Oh yeah ew gotta get some of that action for sure!

Any luck with the short circuit?
Check the tail light harnesses for frayed wires or loose connectors.

Please make the next one on a weekend I will bring my DSLR as well and hopefully I can catch a ride on someone's car and do a few rolling shots like the one below.

It ended up being that her kick plate illumination is shorted out. And the STEALERship wants to charge her $400 for the fix!

That is insane.

The sill plate is right there. Labor should be minimal.
Are replacement sill plates that pricey?

If so, disconnect it and wait for a 25% off sale at eInfiniti and get it cheaper.
Hell, I'll help install it.

My Man!
Sorry you just missed the summit, but then the pix were better at waterfront anyway.

I think it's time to plan get the crew out for a weekend sunset run, no car show this time, photo priority.

I'll scout out a location to capture the golden light, we'll get there early and hang, do detail shots for everyone, and take solo runs for rolling shots.

I'll start thinking it through and post up a thread in afew days. We'll push it out a couple of weeks so folks can get their vacations done and their kids back in school.

That's the ticket! let's do this. I'll be scouting some locations so we can set up a relay to run the photo chase-car with a good backdrop behind the subject vehicle.

I'm open to location suggestions as well. I'll start a thread in a couple of days.

Man what a treat this trip was.

The hottest G35 I've seen in person, polished engine and rolling on killer SSRs!

The meanest Q50, so perfectly black you had to stand back just to keep from falling in...with the coolest headlight package. I'm totally jonsing for that.

The first Q70 I've seen in person... WTF V8??? rolling on 22" Works???
So I ask, what's the story with those big-azzed wheels? "Oh, I took them off my FX45" .... Piston envy? um yeah, a little.

The car show had some insane vehicles. Blowers up to the roofline,
Exotics that looked like they came out of Jay Leno's garage.
Classics that looked showroom new

Everyone was cool as heck. But the best part was we got such a great turnout from the crew... I mean the peeps just kept arriving!!! Every time we got ready to head down to the show, somebody else checked in.

I'm glad I washed my car because you all came correct! Detailed and dialed.

And we practically had our own row.

The MYG37 Suicide Squad Totally Represented.

Seriously you folks are a total blast to hang with!

Oh did I forget to mention the cruise down from the peak?

LMAO Kenny with the Stealership!

They said I would need a brand new Illuminated Kick Plate and they would need to rewire everything. From past experience the mechanic told me that's what would work when it shorts. Total cost $400.

So I had them disconnect it for now while I think about it. They didn't charge me to check it out and gave me extra fuses. They recommended getting a battery soon also so I just did it then and they gave me 50% off.

You guys are awesome for helping me in the dark that night! Much appreciated I owe you for sure

Pics and GoPro footage will be up tomorrow!

You may want to start a thread on this but I was thinking:

While you're waiting for a deal, If the dealer did not specify WHICH plate is bad,

Maybe try unplugging both plates.
Plug in one, then the other to see which one shorts and blows a fuse.

After that, take the shorting plate to the OTHER side and see if it shorts and blows a fuse there.

Then you'll know if either of the plates are bad, and which one it is.
That way, you'll also have a SPARE when you get your replacement set.

You'll also know if the short is in the harness or actually in the plate.
(if it does not blow when you move it to the other side, then the plate isn't bad the harness it came off is bad)

There is no sense buying new sill plates if it's just a bad wire on the connecting harness, and there's no point in replacing the whole harness if it's just a bad sill plate.
