Code P1815
So today my car decided it doesn’t want to go into D/S mode (automatic transmission) no check engine light, but code P1815-00 pops up. I can’t really find and information on fixing the issue.

What year is your car?
More than likely the M-Mode (manual/DS mode) switch either broke or needs to be adjusted. There are three (3) microswitches located in the floor shifter that control DS/Shift Up/and Shift Down:
You could check to make sure the switches are good. As you can see each switch has a metal tab that actuates the switch. These tabs can get bent.
No guarantees, though. It could also be a wiring issue or a issue with the paddles. I would suggest you download the G37 Factory Shop Manual for your car. For this issue you will need section TM (transmission) though I suggest you download the whole manual. Section INT (Interior) will show you how to gain access to the shifter.

Update:
I took the center console apart to get to the shifter, unplugged and plugged the connections, and it started working again. Stopped working later on in the day. I did the same thing, unplugged and plugged it back in. It’s working again. Where should I go from here?

Apologies for the late reply...
Did you verify that the microswitches are in good working order and are actually engaging with the shifter? This can be done with the engine OFF, parking brake SET. Just press the manual shift lock button and run the shifter as you normally would paying close attention to how the M-Mode (DS) switch engages. The switches should feel solid and crisp when pressed.
Based on the intermittent symptom as related to the connectors, I would visually check for any loose, pinched, or damaged wires. It would not hurt to make sure the solder connections at the switches are solid.

Any Solution?
Hey man, just recently replaced my shifter assembly, and have had this happening to me, was wondering if you ever figured it out? Or did you have to replace the whole assembly
