Drove my G for about 8k miles with a busted half axle and bad wheel bearing. Wouldn't have known anything was wrong if it wasn't for the sound. Car actually drove and handled fine. By comparison, my Volvo shut itself down in the middle of a drive before because a cam solenoid went bad. Out of commission for 3 weeks diagnosing that... My Mitsubishi managed to get knocked out of alignment anytime I hit too many leaves at one time and my Mazda managed to explode after only 125k miles.

Comparably, the G is a God send. So nice knowing exactly what I'm getting every drive. I consider Ford to be pretty reliable but I also manage to total them before getting to >80k miles so the jury is still out.

All kidding aside, I'd love to get another manual to replace the G37 but given the positive experience I've had, and the volume of driving I do, it's hard to not consider them as a replacement.

My family is currently at four VQ37VHR powered vehicles - and three of them are over 100,000 miles each. Nothing more than basic late oil changes and minimal work overall.

While I am completely sick of the car because we have had so many, there is no doubt that for every dollar I've spent, there are few cars that match the value/fun/reliability of these cars in one package.

137K miles, bought new in September 2007. Bullet proof. Only issue was the battery drain due to faulty VCV and the RPM surging during braking, which considering it was the first model year for is to be expected and was fixed by TSBs in the first year. Not a single issue since and all I have done is follow the maintenance schedule.

My personal experiences say otherwise.

At 38k miles, my engine failed. Thankfully, I got it replaced under warranty but all I've heard from them is that they found sharp metal pieces in my engine and that they don't know how that happened. I recently sent them an email asking for the exact reasons for my engine failure and am still waiting to hear from them.

Alright, so that engine failure could be a rare occurrence that not many get to experience. What about the plethora of other problems that seem very common on this forums.

Loud clutch(or under-carriage) rattle happening at random intervals when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.

High-frequency noise coming from the steering wheel or the engine bay area right in front of the driver seat whenever going at 70mph or higher speeds.

High-frequency noise driving at gear 1-4.

Also the whole fiasco of Nissan getting caught red-handed while manipulating QC data? What other data that is not known already is manipulated for my G37?

Japanese = low depreciation?

2013 G37S 6MT with EVERY option and very good condition at 40k miles = sub 20k. That's embarrassing.

PS - Have you guys seen the keys for the Q60? Same exact key fobs as ours. This company's laziness is unbelievable.

I still love my car, just needed to rant. However, I'm not lying when I say I lost faith in Infiniti.

Sorry that you had trouble with your G-37 coupe.

We have a 2013 6MT with 27,000 miles, and had not trouble with it.

We really enjoy driving particularly in open lhighway and winding roads.

We do take preventative maintenance seriously and often exceed maintance requirements.

This is the 2nd Infiniti and had 2 Maximas before them. All of them have been very reliable.

Hope that you give Infiniti another chance and that you have better luck with it.

He bought a used car and didn't do as pip on the car. No car is more less reliable than another when owner doesn't maintain the car

How is the 08 running now? Thinking about putting myself into a '09 sport (I know some of the more major changes were made between these years, but same engine) coming out of a 2013 Journey. Car only has 73k, and a clean carfax, which is fairly reassuring.

Just the rear timing gasket. Switched from paper to metal in 2012.

Ahh, I was actually referring to the differences between 08 and 09..major being tranny upgrade. '09 and '11-'12 were the 2 years with the most redesign applied if any at all from what I can tell..
However, I did not know that, and while I have no problem getting under the hood, that seems like it may consume more time than I have to offer..I think you just sold Carmax's warranty for them.
