FX35 AWD or Murano SL AWD?
#2
Better deals can be arranged on the Murano than on the FX. But as much as I thoroughly enjoy our 05 SL AWD, I still would have preferred the FX35 (which the wife did not like). IMHO, the FX35 has slightly better performance and better aesthetics. (NOTE: The CVT in the Murano takes some getting used to but works well once you do.)
The lease on my 05 Murano was $2k/dp, $400/mo for 42 months w/15k-yr allowance. I do not believe I could have pulled that off with the FX last year.
Good luck.

Well the Murano is based on the Altima FWD chassis, the FX is based on the G coupe RWD chassis. If you get the AWD version, it matters less, so that helps. But... the Murano has different interior space than the FX, due to it being a FWD platform (it has more room inside due to short hood/front). The FX has a better weight distribution, better suspension, is a little more short/wide on it's wheels. So.. the FX is faster and handles better, the Murano is pretty close and has more interior space.
I say make sure you test drive them both.

I have both. 04 Murano SL AWD & 06 FX35 AWD.
The Murano is a quality veh, but compared to the FX is uninspiring.
A couple of points...
Handling: FX. Just like the g35x it is RWD biased. The murano is exactly the oppisite.
Cargo: Murano
Fuel: Murano by 2 mpg city and hwy
Launch/speed: FX all day long. Same VQ engine, but tuned differently & paired w/ the CVT tranny which is slower off the line.
Front seat comfort: FX the Murano feels like your riding on top of the car. The FX feels like you're wrapped in a cockpit.
rear seat room: Murano (but I can fit in the back seat of the FX w/ the front seat all the way back. I'm 6'2".
Practicality: Murano
Driving experience: FX
What's your other car? If it's sporty, go for the Murano. If it's already a people/cargo hauler, go for the FX.

I love my FX, but I do see the value and utility that the Murano offers over the FX. Neither are a bad vehicle, both a perfect for their target buyers. Just need to determine which target you are.
