I wish they would have made it seat 7. They need something like a pathfinder because the GF and I are going to get one and I would rather have another Infiniti.

The EX is to compete with the likes of the RDX, X3, etc......so a seven seater wasn't what Infiniti was gunning after. This is what the new upcoming FX will be for.

^exactly. There will now be more models to better serve different markets.

The rear end of the EX looks like something off a Hyundai. Yuck!

RDX looks better IMO

Okay, your rite. It was wishful thinking. I'm trying to stay under 38k for a fully loaded new Infiniti and the sedan is my only option. I was hoping the EX would be a second choice.

How are they going to improve the FX's to make them worth the extra? Seems like the EX will have everything you need!
The Q45 is also going to have its hands full trying to justify its existence when the M is doing the job quite well. At least the FX will probably have more interior room and more cargo space. These are risks Infiniti may have avoided if they were doing what they are doing now back in the early 90's.

3.7L V6

new V8

luxury amenities not available on the EX

more standard equipment than the EX

more room than the EX

etc...

If BMW can sell their X3 alongside their X5, Infiniti can sure as hell figure out how to market the EX alongside its big brother FX.

My hopes are that Infiniti will give the FX an optional jump seat without stretching the car too much just to shut the "we need a 3rd row" crowd up. Honestly with its sloping roofline, the FX just flat out is not the right vehicle for a third row. What Infiniti needs is a proper upright boxy SUV to slot between the QX56 and the FX in terms of size. Since the QX4 was never inline with Infiniti's naming scheme I say call this new Pathfinder based vehicle the JX40 and the JX56. That s**t would sell so fast I'm surprised Infiniti has been stupid enough to not figure it out themselves.

I'm not so sure the next FX will be a seven seater. It would be difficult, because while the FX will be growing, I'm sure Nissan is going to want to keep it's "coupe-like" style and stance.

The next generation QX, which will probably debut in late 2009, will be a rebadged version of the export-market, next generation Nissan Patrol and it will move downmarket slightly, probably at a pricepoint that will slot it between the FX37 and FX45. It will take design cues from the Nissan Terranaut concept:

While the Nissan Patrol is very popular in export markets - particularly Africa, Australia, and the Middle East - volume is small, so by exporting it to the US as an Infiniti, Nissan will be able to justify the expenses of the next generation model, which was supposed to debut this year. Toyota, similarly, sells the export market Land Cruiser Prado, which is the Patrol's most direct competitor, as the GX470 in the US.

The only downside of the EX are the rear tail lights..i'm just not really feeling them.

What I don't like is that Infiniti broke family tradition creating the EX. Every other vehicle since 2002 has had the signature "catamaran" style or or "wave" hood. I don't see that with the EX. I guess that could be a good thing, otherwise, the front would look exactly like the G35. Wouldn't be a make or break purchasing decision...but, hey. Also, would have liked it to be a little more aggressive but I do realize Infiniti is targeting women with this vehicle. Nothing wrong with that. I just hope the new FX will be just as aggressive as the outgoing model.

Ooooh, sneaky. LOL

I can see bugs getting plastered on the camera constantly. I was expecting a retractable camera like the one shown in an earlier video. It will involve tedious work to keep that clean.
