Its my wife’s car so I drive it but not daily. But I’ve driven it a lot over the last almost 2 years and my biggest takeaway is that the Lexus is waaaaay more refined in just about every way you can think of. It seems more like it’s own distinct luxury brand more so than Infiniti, which feels like a “tarted up Nissan” as someone once put it. Lol. Quality of materials, ergonomics, features, ride comfort, wind and road noise - all noticeably better in the GS. I thought going from the G to the GS might feel like driving a Camry because the Infiniti engine is rated at 330 HP vs 306 in the Lexus. Not even a little bit. The F Sport has the absolute best automatic transmission in any car I’ve ever owned. Granted I hadn’t driven an auto much for a while, but the 8 speed is truly amazing IMO. Light years ahead of any Nissan/Infiniti transmission. Keep in mind I’m comparing an 09 G sedan to a 15 GS350 F Sport, so whatever advancement Infiniti has made in those intervening years from the G37 to the Q50 are lost on me. Zero regrets in making the switch, and I’ve owned and loved many Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. Now I’ve only ever driven the F Sport and not the standard GS360, but the way I’d sum it up is that I didn’t lose any visceral driving feel like I thought I might. And it’s a hell of a lot nicer.
