No, KWs can handle many more miles/KMs but when an owner (before me, in my case) drives without regard to the street/track set, set up gets beat up. KW validated/repaired those worn/damaged, near new.
Some will lower a car with very strictly engineered components and relentlessly, subject them to everyday, crappy roads. When a nicely lowered set up isn't cared for on speedbumps and potholes, damage may occur. OEM vs track/street lowered are two different environments.

The rebuild is extensive and depends on the condition of the coilovers. The full assembly is inspected and worn items replaced. In my case, the rebuild lists 30 parts listed on two pages on my receipt. In fact, the damage was so bad to one coilover, the piston and coilover housing was replaced among many other parts; making it pretty much new.
