Athens Blue with Twist on Vossen CV7's
 

I did this mod a few weeks ago and love the way it looks. I've got the Matte Graphite CV7's but wanted the lip to stand out more and provide more contrast between the tires and rims themselves.

I used silver rim tape to wrap the small lip but it provides a nice subtle "time attack" style to the Vossen CV7's. My wife said when the car is rolling you notice the silver "line" more. The pictures below are with only the rear wheels done. I haven't had time to wrap the front wheel lips yet so hopefully you can see the subtle difference before I wrap them.

I like it. Makes them "pop" more.

Car looks good. But the silver lip almost looks like you curbed the paint off.

I haven't gone to any of the UCSD meets or any meet in a while! Been busy lately. When and where are these meets?

The wrap was two fold actually. I noticed that every time I bring the car in for an alignment or balancing, the lip would get scratched up. Hopefully this wrap will prevent that from happening and if the wrap gets scratched I can just replace it (I've already got back up pieces stored up).

These wraps were meant for motorcycle wheels but they work for my application. It's very subtle which I like.

I'll post more pics when I get the fronts wrapped up. I'm no professional but I think they came out ok. I took the wheels off the car instead of trying to wrap them while still on the car.

A lot of SDCE people go to the UCSD Monday Night Meets. They're on Monday's at 8pm, I believe. I'll check again and report back, but I'm 95% sure that's the date and time.

Love the combo! The rims are sick as hell!!!

Ok I finally had time to wrap the front wheels with the silver lip as was previously done to the rears only. The subtle lip contrast is now complete. Love the way they came out. Enjoy!
