Looks great bro! Nice job. I bet you're tired, but it's well worth it.

hazewow May 26, 2008 01:44 AM

no offense, but why would you take a picture of your car with a pole in front of it...

Detailing is a rain dance in itself!!!

Emon Crew May 26, 2008 02:09 AM

Gorgeous, like wet glass

lol I can pretty much see ur entire street based off the reflection of your car

BTW...I'm a noobie wen it comes to detailing n stuff....what exactly was the porter cable used for? What was the milwaukee heat gun used for?
What's the exact sequence of steps you went through to get your car to look like this?

last question....any reason why you chose not to clay?

xref May 26, 2008 02:34 AM

thanks guys!

lol. i was just too tired to move my car to a better spot. i took that picture in front of my driveway.

ohhh screw the thunderstorms... i'll drive my car when i want to... but not after i just detailed it. haha. my car will be inside my garage if it rains tomorrow.

emon, i used the porter cable to polish the car, apply the sealant and wax. if you want to remove swirl marks, the best way to do it is with a dual-action polisher like the porter cable 7424. removing swirl marks by hand is possible but it's gonna take a LOT of time. you can apply the sealant and wax by hand, i just chose to do it with the polisher because it's easier.

the heat gun, i used that to get rid of the bug stains on the clear bra.

i chose not to clay because i was gonna polish the car anyway. the polishing compound i used is slightly abrasive to remove swirl marks and other crap from the paint.

steps?
1) vacuum interior
2) leather conditioner on the seats, clean the panels
3) wash
4) polish
5) wax
6) tire dressing
